Love the doggie pictures.   Better than dressing up kids.   More fun because pets do not complain.

Hooray! One check has arrived fromPhiladelphia. The big question is what's going on with the composer's daughter?

I just heard from her; hasn't been sent yet. She's usually speedy.

I got an oversized beer koozie at the recent office gift exchange. Seems rather obscene to me.

OK

Were they supposed to be gag gifts?

Today is bright, sunny, not too cold, and there's no winter precip in sight (yay!!!).

Most important of all, this is my last day of Christmas Hell 2012.  Last concert is tonight.  This little gig has been fun, but the commute and the excessive (in my opinion) number of events (making me miss things like the East Coast Singer) have been a pain in the royal arse.

But I'm finding it fun working with high school kids.  Some of them, anyway.  :)

Enjoy your last concert.

Nobody at the party considered that a gag gift. I had actually drawn three other gifts -- a battery-operated cocktail shaker, a battery-operated corkscrew and a cube speaker for your iPhone -- and all were stolen from me. So, I was the last person to get a gift, and about five or six people were really wanting the beer koozie. Go know.

Just saw a holiday recipe for something called Chocolate-Malt Stump de Noel.

I just love the name. And I'd love some right now.

I bet it tastes as good as it looks.

Your party works like my book group book/gift exchange.  Did you offer it in trade?  You can always recycle it at the exchange next year.

I was up to going back to the gym today.  I kept my workout on the lighter side.  All the way there I said "I will not jog on the treadmill", yet I did for a little bit.

Yesterday's TOD (this is becoming a habit)

I've always loved fantasy films but there are so many and so many diffferent categories of fantasy films that I don't know where to start. For now I'll single out Ray Harryhausen's films and especially The 7th Voyage of Sinbad.

Visited my doctor for the first time in a year for my annual cholesterol results which were slightly up on last year but still OK. I also handed him my blood pressure readings which were fine - in fact lower than last year (I do my own home readings).

Your doctor doesn't check your blood pressure in the office?

BK

I am curious in what you think about this interview with Kurt Deutsch. He talks about the cost of producing cast albums. I was wondering if it actually rings true from your experience in producing them

How about this?  I called Fed Ex again - they told me a package was being delivered today.  The lady today told me it would be delivered tomorrow because someone had called in and requested the package be held for an additional day.  I told her that made no sense since the package is coming to ME and I made no such call.  I wouldn't let her off the hook, so she put me on hold and then came back with this whopper - no packages that contain screeners are going anywhere until after Christmas.  Apparently there are bins and bins of them and poor Fed Ex just can't handle it, complained to the "shipper" and the shipper, whose name I now have, told them it would be fine to hold them until after Christmas.  Which means that not only do they hold them until then, it will then take them many days to get them to everyone.  I really wonder if the studios, who spent a LOT of money doing these, knows that their representative in charge of getting them out, just effectively killed some folks chances of getting nominations.  Because some people will now not be able to see them in time to nominate.

Why didn't they let the USPS share in some of the deliveries!
