Think i'll go to the movie tomorrow....can't remember the name of it....think it opened today

You must be talking about the new Tom Cruise film.

Glad people are liking Les Miz.  I wish I had liked it better - I WANTED to like it better - I wanted to love it, but I couldn't get past the direction, which, for me, bordered on inept, and some of the performances (Sasha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter for starters).  I'm sure I'll watch it again at some point.

Had a good time at Cissy Wechter's party.  Met a really nice gal, the sister of the fellow Cissy is living with now, plus lots of folks I already knew.  I didn't overdo the eating as I usually do, although I did have two helpings of the kugel Cissy made especially for me - and it was great.

I didn't get so many presents this year, but I loved what I got - a few CDs, the Wechters got me a huge bag filled with wacky foodstuffs that all look like they'll be interesting to try, and the Pogues gave me a DVD of Trevor Nunn's musical version of The Comedy of Errors and a case of Gold Star Chili, which I will make either tomorrow or Thursday.

Well, I loved the movie...except the shaky cam.  That got old, real fast.  But otherwise, I bought into it all and was swept away.  The opinions of the other people in our group was mixed-to-positive.  One woman who had never seen the stage musical nor really knew the score didn't care for it.  She liked the acting, the cinematography, things like that, but not the overall movie.  Most of the other people did like it more than not. :D
