Actually, the movie sounds really good from a point beyond the psychosexual. Is it worth it to sacrifice someone who is healthy and alive to bring back someone from the dead? Why would the living person be less worthy of staying alive? Because she's a woman? You could get all kinds of theory involved in a dissection (vivisection?) of the work.

No wonder I'm tired.  Around 2:00 last night I finished reading, the excellent, WILD: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail

I often hike small portions of the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail).  The section I hike on Mt. Ashland is my favorite local hike.  The author's trek took her through Ashland a few years before we moved here.

I then downloaded WAR HORSE & read most of it, finishing the book this morning.

Thank you DR Cilla for lending it to me.  I enjoyed it very much and might look for more books by the author.  When I opened the book and saw it was only 120 pages I suspected it was written for older children.  As I began to read I was sure I was about to adventure into a wonderful book written for children and loved by adults.

Yes, MBarnum, that Howard Keel can be scary, but was he a triffid or was that Kathryn Grayson in an unbilled guest appearance?

I think most here would agree, it was Kathryn.

Howard did not speak kindly of that picture.

I guess it was sort of a come down for him, but darn if it isn't one of my favorite sci-fi films!

So, it looks as though we will record ROBERTA in Dublin in September. The Man From Philadelphia seems happy with the news. My FINIAN'S RAINBOW conductor Rob Berman will conduct.  I am happy to have him join the group. He's a great talent.

TOD:

DR ZHIVAGO (Is this a British production?)

I've always thought of it as a British film Dan and the British Film Institute describe it as such although Wikipedia say it's an American film...but what do they know! By the way, it's DOCTOR ZHIVAGO not DR ZHIVAGO. M-G-M were very insistent about using that correct title!

I have not heard about these. I wonder if they sell them here. My favorites are the peanut butter ones. Have not had those in a long time.

One of my top two favorite authors has these giveaways every Friday. She usually gives out a signed copy of any of her books. Or sometimes an advance readers copy. Or sometimes a signed something else. I have entered almost every week for like two years. Never won. Sometimes you have to answer an easy question. Or sometimes a harder one. This Friday she was giving out tshirts from her last book- love the series.  And today her assistant emailed me to say I won one of the t shirts. Woohoo!

Last night's The Good Wife was so good. Still need to watch The Mentalist and Downton Abbey. I really want to watch Fashion Police. But right now I am reading. Did not get to read for 3 days.
