One of my top two favorite authors has these giveaways every Friday. She usually gives out a signed copy of any of her books. Or sometimes an advance readers copy. Or sometimes a signed something else. I have entered almost every week for like two years. Never won. Sometimes you have to answer an easy question. Or sometimes a harder one. This Friday she was giving out tshirts from her last book- love the series.  And today her assistant emailed me to say I won one of the t shirts. Woohoo!

Congrats, Jennifer!

And now, I must leave.  My cousin and his wife have come up from Oregon and they're staying with my sister.  We'll spend the evening chatting and probably play Scrabble or Qwirkle.

Be back later!

Topic of the Day...most of these have been mentioned, but I added a few new ones:

The Big Tease
Calendar Girls
A Fish Called Wanda
Four Weddings and A Funeral
The Full Monty
The Kings Speech
The Lion In Winter
Maurice
The Mouse That Roared
Monty Python and The Holy Grail
Notting Hill
Oliver!
A Room With a View
Saving Grace
Shakespeare In Love

And Vixmom really got this right: "All of the Wallace and Gromit movies/shorts." :D

Over the holidays I watched ARTHUR CHRISTMAS, made by the creator of Wallace and Gromit.  I enjoyed it a lot.

I then downloaded WAR HORSE & read most of it, finishing the book this morning.

Thank you DR Cilla for lending it to me.  I enjoyed it very much and might look for more books by the author.  When I opened the book and saw it was only 120 pages I suspected it was written for older children.  As I began to read I was sure I was about to adventure into a wonderful book written for children and loved by adults.

Glad you liked it. I did too!

I took these photos the last time we watched Kitty & Yogi while Craig was away.

Beautiful kitty.

I think the mystery books go fast because I literally become Adriana Hofstetter and she is an impatient girl who wants answers and wants to know what's going on in the quickest way possible.  So, I'm in that mindset when I'm writing and it just comes pouring out.  With the non-fiction, I was literally petrified I'd start forgetting things and I just wanted to get it all down as quickly as possible and I just could not stop writing - sometimes to the tune of twenty pages a day.

I've done seven so far today and am really having a good time in this sequence I'm in.  I'll definitely finish this chapter later tonight, probably another five or six pages.

Last night's The Good Wife was so good. Still need to watch The Mentalist and Downton Abbey. I really want to watch Fashion Police. But right now I am reading. Did not get to read for 3 days.

Three days, must have been hard to go that long.

Not really. I"m trying to read 2 books a week.  But it doesn't bother me to go a day or two without reading anything. Last year and the year before I've gone sometimes a week and not read. But never once I've started a book.  I think I've said it before, but sometimes I have a hard time starting a book. It can take me a day or two to feel like starting it.

New wireless internet will be connected on Thursday or Friday.

When the box arrives in the mail, it will be time to learn how to connect and use it.

I might not be here for a week.

MEGA VIBES EVERYONE.

I've written eight pages so far and while I would like to write another two or three, I'm not sure I will.  I'll take a hot shower and see how I feel.  I did check out a little of the new Blu-ray that contains Ship of Fools and Lilith and one Blu and Ray disc.

I ended up watching twenty minutes of Lilith, which I've never seen all the way through.

Vixmom, here's a recipe that's relatively close to a solid Texas chili, though I would probably brown the meat in the bacon drippings before adding:

That picture looks disgusting.
