I had a frustrating  NYPL visit, but I did get to chat with several librarians I like. Then, as I stepped onto the third floor elevator, I ran smack into the exiting Ian Marshall Fisher, who directed the 1998 BBC Radio production of JUBILEE. We went over to Alice Tully Hall for acup of coffee and chatted for about 2 and a half hours. It was a wonderful visit.

I'm glad you had a nice day.

How do I set it for only this years books to show up?
When you look half way down your page there is the option to set your goodreads goal for the year. Then it keeps track. But as long as you are marking the date you finish books you shoulld be able to check.

Randy and Jo were very sad over the deaths of both Max and Maddie within 2and a half months  of each other last fall. They now have a new puppy, named Blaze, whom Jo said she is spoiling to death.

I dearly loved Max and Maddie, but I do think Blaze is awfully adorable.

That should be Adorable with a capital "A."

Oh, I meant to mention that I love Dorothy Fields' songs. I don't know why she isn't better known among the general populus. Her songs are, but not her name.
She's great. There's a decent bio of her, "On the Sunny Side of the Street: The Life and Lyrics of Dorothy Fields."

Thanks, John G. I may buy a copy. Plus, I learned that there's a CD available, a combination of Ms Fields talking about her life and also singing.

Bruce, DOWNTON ABBEY doesn't release until January 29. Are you getting it before the release date?

I'm getting it from the UK - it came out there two weeks ago and was shipped last week so it should be here very soon - usually normal shipping from the UK takes four or five days tops, and it will be day six tomorrow.

Jo says he's eight weeks old and huge. Since he's got home, he's only had three accidents in the house, and Jo's looking for an obedience class for him.

Three?  I have had more accidents than that this week.

Just one more night of these freezing temps. I would enjoy it a lot more if my garden wasn't freezing. I have no idea how much will be left when this is all over.

I am sorry  how are the caterpillars doing?

They are growing. I will put them on the plant my friend gave me tomorrow, as they have eaten the clippings she gave me. I think The Monarch Scientist has a small amount of plants, so I will give some caterpillars to her.

How do you know that your friend is going to give you a plant tomorrow?

I guess I've done around eleven pages today.  Not the easiest chapter, but I think it came out well, and it definitely ends well.
