Monday morning greetings!  I am still sick and not amused.
You need a trip to the tropics.

No airplanes for me for a while...

"Les Miserables becomes the first film cast recording to top the Official Albums Chart in almost 16 years."

From officialcharts.com

Since when did a soundtrack become "a film cast recording"?

I did not watch the second season of DOWNTON ABBEY.....just the first episode and it didn't pull me in.....

So I will probably watch Season Three just to see what they are up to.

I liked the Season One episode that had the suitor coming to Downton.....but mostly to steal back his love letters from the footman.

I watched several Danny Kaye movies on TCM yesterday....although I have seen them all.  And by the time we got to HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSON at 8 p.m., I had had about enough.

AND then came THE COURT JESTER......and it is just about a perfect movie.....and my favorite DK movie of all!!!  I never get tired of it....it is so perfectly crafted.....

I think it's my favorite DK, too. I need to find a copy. I don't think I've seen it in about 20 years or so.

So, "Les Miz" will be on DVD in March. Why announce that when it's still in the Top 10 at the box office? Makes me not want to go see it at a theater. I could probably bear the closeups better at home anyway.

Because of the snow only three of us, out of eight, turned up for the lunch. Had a good time anyway.

Sorry about the death of Michael Winner. I didn't care for many of his films but he was one of the few British directors who achieved success in the international market.

Good morning from LAX!  My flight doesn't leave for another 90 minutes.  I have to change planes is Cincinnati and don't get home till 10 pm.  The good news is I don't have to go to work tomorrow!

Not a lot of people at the airport today, relatively speaking.  Of course it is Inauguration Day and Martin Luther King's birthday.

If anyone watches the Inaugural Parade this afternoon, keep an eye out for the marching band from Miami University, alma mater of DR Elmore and my DH Richard.
