Our pond was very busy today, no Wood Ducks but the Ring-necked Ducks, all seven of them, were busy diving down for the weeds. We can see all the weeds they have pulled up floating in the pond.  Keith thinks they are getting them from the roots which is good.

We also had a Blue Heron out there for awhile.

The guy we've contracted to clear our driveway when it snows just stopped by to pre-treat it with salt.  Does he know something we don't?

Interesting.  I don't believe I have ever had that done.

Haven't tried it but I've thought about doing so.

Well, he knew what he was doing.  I left a little before 7 for movie night at Katie'
s, about 3 blocks away.  During the movie, it snowed about an inch and the streets were pretty slick, but our driveway was clear.  I am home safe & sound.

Yay!!!

Good morning, all!

I stayed up too late reading the biography of Brit actor Phil Daniels,so when the alarm rang at 6:30, I stayed in bed until 7:30. I will shortly head down to Toyland, proofread the new piano-vocal for "Armful of Trouble," work a bit on my Rodgers & Hart bibliography and come home.  On my way back, I'll stop at City Center and pickup my tickets for tonight's performance of FIORELLO.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hsppy Birthday, DR MichaelShayne !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Larry. Most appreciated

I very much enjoyed the Encores! production of FIORELLO. The only production I had ever seen before was in Cincinnati, around 1975, conducted by an acquantance of mine and DR Ginny. It was so dreadful, I've always looked down on the piece itself, considering it the weakest Bock & Harnick show.  Well, it's really a wonderful show, and the Encores! cast was quite good. I'm very grateful that I've had a chance to revise an opinion.

Of course, the answer is a simple one: Facebook.  Back in 2007 Facebook was not a big deal around these here parts.  Edisaurus posted here every day.  Now you can only see her posts on Facebook - seems a bit wacky to me, but apparently she thinks more people see her stuff there than here - I hate to tell her that because of the way Facebook works now, t'ain't so.  Same with Pogue, same with Jose, who just shows up now once or twice a year whenever he feels like it, and on and on.  Some here manage to do both without a problem.  But, you know, sixty-five pages vs. barely four.  It's not that we haven't had very busy days, because we have on several occasions just this month.  But one day it's twelve and the next we struggle to get off four.  I don't get it and frankly I don't want to get it.  It will turn around.  It always turns around.  Facebook will make one change too many and people will have had it.

I can't imagine that people would post on facebook because they think more people will see what they write. Maybe they have stuff they want their close friends and family to read.

DR jane I didn't read anything today hoping that book i was waiting for might come in.

Btw, I'm sure you've read almost as many books as me this month. Plus 2 of mine were e-novellas and one was a 100+ page kids chapter book.
