Friday morning greetings!  Sunny and c-c-cold here in SW Ohio - our outside thermometer says 8 degrees.

Too cold.

I made the mistake of watching a new episode of TWO AND HALF MEN last night.  Ashton Kutcher is really bad.....REALLY BAD....and they have brought in a couple of other guys - only one of whom is helping.....  Why is this show still on?

I have suffered through a few episodes. It's like a car wreck that you can't stop watching. My jaw drops and I think "this can't get any worse" and then it does! I am by no means a prude, but this show brings a whole new definition to Vulgar. It wasn't that good when Charlie Sheen was on but now it's sunk through the bottom of the barrel and sits at the bottom of a fetid swamp.

I was impressed with the young actor who has grown up on this show told people not to watch it. ;D

I woke up at 4:30 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep. Enough sleep to not be able to sleep, but not enough to feel good during the day. I'm sure you've all had this happen. Ugh!

We could have talked. ;)

I just got word from BearManor Media.  Theyy are going to publish my 2nd book of memoirs; the stories that I couldn't fit into the first book.

Awaiting the contract...

Congrats, Druxy. Have you published with them before?

Including the Basil Rathbone reprint, this will be my 4th book with them.

Nice, and congrats on the new book!

Then we went birding a little. Saw an American bittern and some red-crested ducks and skimmers as well pelicans, an egret and plenty of herons. Seeing three or four roseate spoonbills in flight is one of the glories of God's creation.

And I thought it has been busy in our pond.

This morning the incredibly beautiful Wood Ducks returned while there were only 3 Ring-necked Ducks.  Last we looked the Wood Ducks had gone & the Ring-necked ones were still there.

In the morning it was so foggy it looked as if there was a cloudy layer on the lens of our telescope.  The land telescope was one of the best purchases we have ever made.

Richard has gone to the Dayton 'burbs to see THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY.  I opted to stay home, because almost 3 hours of hobbits would be too much even if I felt great.

Well, there is also Gandalf, a gaggle of dwarves, Gollum, some ogres and Smaug the dragon.  Bilbo is the only hobbit in most of the story.

;D

From DR Vixmom:

its quite long , my paperback was 775 pages

I'm very happy to read long books if they are good.  By the time I get around to this one I might forget it is long, the disadvantage of eBooks is I can't see how big they are.
You can see how long an ebook is. Just go to goodreads or amazon and look for the hard cover or paperback.

Rehearsal should begin in eight minutes.  I was finally paid for last month's show so that will pay for this month's show.

It helps some, however, books are of various sizes and print which can make a difference.

DR VIXMOM - this is the ION Tailgater.....it acts as a PA system, you can hook up your IPOD or MP3 player or even a CD player.  It has its own microphone and also a connection for a guitar.  It's small and powerful.  Runs on current or 12 hours on battery.  NOT a professional solution, but fine for schools and churches or dance instruction.  And I got mine on EBAY for about $90.

WOW!!!  That looks like something that would come in VERY handy for backyard parties and church events -  I must look for one

Thank you very much for explaining

Ah but there were also dwarfs, goblins, elves and a wizard or two!

Today is Victor Herbert's birthday, too. You should all listen to your favorite Victor Herbert song. Since I do not know how to post an mnp3 file here, I cannot send you all mine, "Barney O'Flynn" from BABES IN TOYLAND.

I just typed Victor Herbert into Spotify and this came up at the top of the list:

(I already have it but now it's always available to me on Spotify.)

NICE!!

Once again I post before catching up and find I have inadvertently repeated someone else's post  :)

This morning I was on schedule for my Goodreads book challenge.  This afternoon I'm one book behind, a gentle reminder to get off of the computer and go read.

I didn't like the ending, left me feeling empty.  If there is a sequel to this I shall pass.

Keep up the good work vibes to MR BK.

Reminder to self:  OUTSIDE THE BOX on Sunday night!

I thought it was moved to Monday night.  Did I dream that or did I read it somewhere?
