Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Kritzerland at Sterling's 30, and now it is time for you to post until the thirty cows come home.

Good morning, all!

I got plenty of sleep last night and was out of bed by 6:45am. In about 45 minutes I'll head down to Toyland.  I need to stop at my bank and inquire about yesterday's check deposit.

I heard from the Man from Philadelphia. The radio interview will be next Monday between 2 and 4, so I need to plan my trip to Trenton.  The actual broadcast will be with the EILEEN recording on March 17.

BK, it's good to hear last night's show went well. Congratulations!

TOD: I'm still dreaming of sandy beaches after this weekend, so I'd say either Maui or the southern coast of Portugal.

I'm on a borrowed laptop for just a short time, and FINALLY got to watch OUTSIDE THE BOX.

Wonderful, wonderful!

Will return to that, and all the other episodes, soon.

I've continued agonizing over the laptop issue, and I know some of you will tsk-tsk this decision, but I can have a dynamite computer for one-half to one-third the price of the MacBook I'd really want, so that's the way it has to go this time.  Going Apple is not off the table.  It's just deferred.  And when I do it, I'll do it right.

Did I ever say what happened to the laptop?

I don't think so.

A septic system vent pipe that runs through the unfinished attic had a little water in it (normal), which froze at a point right above my desk in my second story bedroom.  Right over the laptop.  I came in from snow clearing to find a drip of water entering the keyboard right next to the power button.

And why, you ask (I certainly asked it), after nearly 19 years, did this pipe suddenly freeze up?  Because a squirrel or something had entered the attic at some point (not uncommon) and had pushed some insulation around in so doing, exposing that section of the pipe to a direct blast of cold air.  The water froze and cracked the pipe, sending a steady trickle through the fittings around a forced-air heating duct over the desk.

I'm told there's still a chance that the last bit of water in the machine will eventually evaporate and it could start again.  But it's been eight days now, and I suspect the water shorted something or caused some other damage.  A friend assures me the data on the hard drive is safe and can be recovered.  And he knows how to do it.

Anyway, that's my little overdue story for the day.  Have to return this laptop now, so more later.

Tuesday morning greetings!  Today I should be going to Dayton for lunch with the grant writers and coffee with my friend Sue, but I cancelled those plans yesterday morning.

I'm up (barely) and have announced and I think I'll go back to bed - I'll set the alarm for nine, just in case.

Greetings from Toyland!

The subway was screwed up this morning because of a problem at 18th Street: the conductor said mechanical problem, the loud speaker said illness. So, I got off at 50th Street where the train was sitting, got on a No 7 bus and in 10 minutes arrived at my destination. It beat the bus ride home yesterday for screaming children who take up seats for free, their nannies, and their mommies.  It's my observation from observing all for the past 30 years, that the mommies are selfish and spoil their kids by ignoring their bus activity, and too many nannies are morons who I've often seen cross traffic against the light with strollers or take their charges into Barnes & Noble, drop them off to wreak havoc in the children's dept. while they chat with other nannies or spend their time reading the horoscope books.

ROBERTA is waiting for me!

Bitterly cold today. Had oats for breakfast then while at the mall had a coffee and a bacon roll. Then I took the motor into the automatic car wash.
