I am sorry - I cannot like Pamela Reed - she hit Carroll Baker with a baseball bat in KINDERGARTEN COP - and I am sure it was personal.

LOL  Carroll Baker deserved it.

I'm glad it was you who first said this, DR Jane, and not me.  But...she WAS the bad girl in the film!  And she was particularly b-i-zitchy!

I'm back from a flying visit to and from Brussels, Belgium within the day. Although it wasn't a literal flying visit because I went by train. It was bitterly cold but at least the sun was shining. I didn't come across any wi-fi despite visiting lots of bars and cafes. Whilst there I visited the Terracotta Army exhibition which is in its last week and has been travelling the World.

One good thing about Brussels is that there are still plenty of CD/DVD stores both large and small, so it was good to do some browsing.

How long a train ride was it each way?

Jane - it's 2 hours there and 2 hours back. Before the channel tunnel was built, the journey used to take most of the day.

I had no idea what to do for dinner, so I ended up at Artie's where I used up my gift certificate from an especially wonderful DR. I've had some matso ball soup, and I'll have sme cole slaw now. Then it's time for CASTLE on TNT.

While I watch that, I'll sort my final  round of receipts to be tallied. the CDs.  I'll separate them into "Okay to go,"  "Need to be converted to dollars," "Need to find order and invoice on computer," and "what the hell?"

So, according to the Huffington Post, Brits are the most likely to be members of the Mile High Club. Any comments, Doug R?

I have no knowledge of such things. I'm far too busy worrying if the plane will crash.

I got all my library books today!  And one I wasn't expecting that came out Feb 5th.  I am next for another one that came out Feb 5th. I am just happy I was first for the one book I really wanted to read. I just started it!

Hmmm, no CASTLE tonight. I guess I'll watch GHOST HUNTERS for a bit, then take a bath.

Here is the second blurb for the new book from our very own Pogue:

“‘I’m not part of this generation!’ huffs Adriana Hofstetter, defiantly declaring her independence from her fellow students at Hollywood High, as well as stating the obvious.  For Adriana is the squarest peg never to fit in a round hole... not that she’d want to be pigeonholed by the usual teenage obsessions.  Even she calls herself a freak.  Her fashion sense has gone the way of the Dodo bird.  She’s “new” technology-challenged.  And she’s utterly confounded by social networking (understandable when your only friends are the musical-mad gay Billy and an octogenarian ex-film producer who rattles off more one-liners than Henny Youngman).

But Adriana has no time for the angst and self-absorption of her peers. Not when there’s a new mystery to get absorbed in.   When a cast member disappears rehearsing the school’s production of The Music Man, our quirky amateur sleuth quickly realizes they’ve got Trouble, right there in Hollywood High, spelt with a capital “T”, that rhymes with “D” and stands for... “Dead”?   It’s a sure bet Adriana will find out...despite suspicious cast members, admonishing policemen, threatening letters, and a meddling mother.  Once again, Bruce Kimmel pays witty, wry tribute to the square pegs of the world and the enchanting town of Hollywood, both old and new.”

I was trying to watch a motion picture but a) it's not very good and it's VERY long) and b) I'm too fidgety.  I'm going to try and get to bed by nine-thirty again - that's really helpful and tomorrow I don't really have to get up early.  I do think I'm going to have to bow out of seeing the show tomorrow night.

Go to bed early, BK. You need the rest.

I watched the entire video for the Bernese Mountain Dog breed competition.  Before watching I knew Jackson hadn't won.  After watching I think he should have.  At the least he should have place in the top 3.  It didn't happen.

I knew Pamela Reed before she moved to California. She lived a block away from us. I didn't know her well but we spent time with her and even went up to her summer rental in Woodstock in 1983. This was before she was married. She was still doing mostly theatre though she was doing the film version of Herb Gardner's play The Goodbye People when we knew her.

Pam was very good in that film, that only her friends saw.

Have you been following the Jodi Arias trial, Cillaliz? That would explain your errantness and truantness.
