Thank you all for the birthday wishes.
How are you planning to celebrate?

With two bunches of people... at two rehearsals (of course).  Charlotte's Web and Miss Saigon.  Saigon will be great.  Charlotte, not so much.  What is up with that Charles Strouse score?  So not him :(

I thought the Sherman Bros. did "Charlotte's Web." Or was that just the animated movie?

When I was walking down the platform to board the train, it appeared that most of the window seats were taken so I followed a group of people to the front , where I assumed there might be more of choice of seating.  Well, there wasn't.  I sat with a woman who looked at me like I didn't belong, but went ahead anyway.

After we left Penn Station, the conductor came through for tickets. I gave him mine and he informed me that I was sitting in business class with a coach ticket.  I told him I didn't realize it and moved to the next car.   Looking back, the only thing different that I could remember was the footrests and more leg room.  But the leg room in coach is fine for me, especially when you're used to being cramped in a plane.

And there was lots of room in the car, so I'm happier here.  I guess the woman instinctively knew that I didn't belong in business class!

...I just look right back.

Yeah, the animated version.  How I wish we had that score....

Funny thing about Robbie - found her under her married name on Facebook - lots of her chums posting photos, including one guy who must have known her as long as me, since he's posting photos from when she was fifteen.

Guess we'll have to go see the new Jack the Giant Slayer movie because it was filmed at Norwich Cathedral.

We drove up to see snow after the storm yesterday. Didn't take us long. Actually, snow is visible on Four Peaks right from town.

When I woke up, a bird was chirping about it being somebody's birthday today.

When I logged onto my computer and came to this here site, I discovered it's true.

Happy Birthday, Matthew!

I have never thought of Cinderella as either mental or someone with a foot fetish. But apparently it occurred to Douglas Carter Beane, who has written the book for the new version of R&H's Cinderella.

Here's a comment from an interview with Playbill:

For Cinderella, the research stretched back to the 17th century, to the original 1697 story by Frenchman Charles Perrault. "As I read it, I thought, that's really good," recalled Beane. "It was a really smart story. It wasn't a story where Cinderella was this psychotic waif who was prince-stalking and had foot fetishes. It was social satire. I thought, that's my way in."

Thanks again to everyone for the birthday wishes.  I've been spending it solo for the time being. Dogs are in the garage napping, etc. Quiet times are always appreciated

The first thing I read today were bk's notes.  They are usually the first thing I read in the morning anyway... but I'm so saddened and touched by the story, it's likely to stay with me today.  It really does ground you in reality.  Maybe that 4th book in the Kritzerland series might get written some  day....

Not yet...we never get it like they predict.  The drought just won't pass. The air here is dry so the storm has been delayed.  We're supposed to start getting the snow around 3:00 and the get 5 or 6 inches

Today I signed up to read our local newspaper on-line.

Discovered it really is much easier to read the actual paper newspaper. So, won't be giving up my subscription any time soon.

I have returned from City Center.  I finished the ballet quickly; there were several cuts, so it was shorter than the bar count. Then I proofed "The Strongest Man In The World," walked to Broadway and took the 104 bus home. On the bus, I ran into E&T DR JoseS, who has promised to return in the near future. It was nice to catch up with him.

Then I got home to find two emails from Dublin: we may have our Aunt Minnie!

Sounds like there's going to be an extremely low-budget film version of "The Last Five Years" with Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan.
