I did a quickie parody salute (more a salute) to Bette Midler "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" in honor of her new Broadway play (not a musical) playing agent Sue Mengers. The terrific singer Jan Horvath did all three voices on this parodytrack.

Good morning, all! Last night, I was in a hurry getting to bed, and I pked my left eye with the end of my eye drops bottle. Besides fearing that I'd torn or scratched my cornea,the pain was awful. I didn't know if I'd wake up blind in one eye, and rather than getting to bed early, i was up far too late. So, I'm a bit draggy today but time's a-wastin! I am not blind, and luckily, I see my eye doctor on Tuesday, if there's any irritationor pain over the weekend.

This morning I need to stop at the post office before heading to Toyland. Once there, I'll work on "I Won't Dance" and "Lovely To Look At." There's no word yet on the Aunt Minnie negotiations or my schedule proposal from yesterday.

Friday morning greetings! It's icy here and we're in until it melts off our driveway.

My book group friends left last night just as the sleet began to fall. They all got down the driveway to their cars, but 10 minutes later they would have had difficulty. Most of them only had a few blocks to drive.

Icy and dangerous here right now....but temp is heading for 40 degrees....so we shall see what happens. And temps are expected to be in the 40's again tomorrow, so i guess I will have to work.

DR ELMORE - I watch the trial on TRU Tv in the morning and then on HLN (what used to be CNN Headline News) in the afternoon....

As DR CILLA LIZ wrote yesterday, she is a complete sociopath like Nathan Leopold or Carol Fugate..... She has admitted to killing him - in self defense, she says - so there is no chance she will walk. It is just a case of what her punishment will be. I am against the death penalty, but now after watching her, I am wondering about this case. As DR CILLA LIZ also said, she argued with her first lawyer and then wanted to defend herself, but since it is a Death Penalty case, she was not allowed to.

She stalked him....which the prosecutor is finally bringing to light (she claims he was trying to get back with her)....made his life a living hell.... She makes Glenn Close in FATAL ATTRACTION look like Mary in BABES IN TOYLAND.....

Got through last night's preview (populated by seniors) by the skin of our teeth. It was actually a pretty good show, but everyone -- literally, everyone -- even the orchestra ~~was beautiful~~ -- had flubs, and the cast was really beating themselves up over theirs. But that's why you have these preview nights. Show opens tonight and, whatever happens individually, I think it will go very well.

One of my two flubs was a classic, playing a two-bar solo diddy on the WRONG PATCH. (Keyboard isn't fully programmed yet and I was picking at things manually.) Could it have been worse? Yes, and I can only THANK GAWD it wasn't the tam-tam patch.

BLU - Joe Dante's MATINEE (or "Panic sur Florida Beach"), my first disc from Amazon France -- and it's a beauty. It's the home video release this film has always needed. The domestic ones were always hugely lacking in one way or another.

Same here. As we had just moved to South Florida in 1960 when I was about the age of those kids, it resonates for me on so many levels I wouldn't know where to begin. It's just a very special film.
