From TCB, last night:

Actually, I saw Mr Gavin onstage in SEESAW (the musical) and he was really pretty good.

Really pretty good, or just really pretty?

Well, hopefully, both. ;)

Well, Mike, I guess I would have to agree with George.  His acting was very good; and from where I was sitting, he looked pretty damn good.  I would have fought Luci Arnez for him, but I was afraid Tommy Tune would side with her.

Crappy afternoon.

Yesterday morning, I woke up with a congested sensation in my throat.  As the day wore on, the sense of an oncoming "chest cold" seemed ominous.

Last night, I had a nice hot bowl of homemade beef-vegetable soup and went to bed early (after taking some cold medicine).

This morning, I woke up feeling no worse than I did yesterday.

However, things have deteriorated and I'm feeling the cold settling in.

On top of all this, folks here in the office are dragging their feet on "rush" projects and quibbling over insignificant word choices/sentence structure...and then opting for the grammatically incorrect choices.

My last nerve is defying someone to step on it.   I've let some folks know I may not be in tomorrow and if anything is left hanging they're just going to have to deal with it.

Health vibes that you feel better soon, Ron!

Well, I must be off.  I need to go to The Home Depot and get some wood screws.  The gate in my back fence has a couple of loose boards and I just need to screw them back together.  I'll also have to borrow my sister's drill.  It doesn't need to look pretty...it doesn't now, anyway.  It's an old fence and it'll be a while before it can be replaced.  I'd need to share the cost with the owners of the units on each side of me, and one owner has abandoned it. :P Anyway, this temporary fix will be quick and easy.

Be back later.

Interesting discussion in the notes about audio books.  Do any DRs listen to them? I don't think I've ever listened to one before. I see a lot of avid readers on blogs who listen to them instead of reading the book.  I think it might be interesting to take a book you like and then listen to the audio recording. But I would find it very weird to listen to the book instead of reading it and then review it.   I mean if you review it totally as an audio book fine.

I have this fear of letting my mind wonder and losing my place.  I would give on a try for a road trip if Keith were interested.  I often find the library doesn't have an eBook but it does have an audio version to download.

Your library makes you download the audio books.  I would think that would take up a lot of space.

I don't recall complaining about his performances.  I'll have to pay attention next time I watching something he was in.

I don't think you did.  A couple of the other dear readers commented on his lack of acting skills.

I really don't remember John Gavin in anything but Psycho and Thoroughly Modern Millie.

And he was perfect casting in both.
It's not that I don't remember the other movies. It's that I don't remember him in them.

I've found Advil Cold & Sinus, and a hot shower (with water on my chest) and hot fluids seem to be helping a bit.

Just finished watching "Pitch Perfect." Very enjoyable. Nothing that hasn't been done before, but it is sweet. And Anna Kendrick is fun. She's a lot softer than she was way back when she stole "Camp" from her co-stars.

A general filmography/TV listing of his credits (from IMDb):

Fantasy Island (TV series)

That man has a lot of credits.

SO- one more good thing about FB - advertising animals in need of adoption to a huge audience of people who can help them

Starting to watch "Arbitrage." Except for the great Larry Pine, the movie promises not much, which is, if I recall correctly, about what BK said of it. I may not finish it.

You are quite welcome!

We just cast Ben Davis as the leading man for ROBERTA and the Irish portion of the recording is now completed. Ben and Jason Graae will later record further with the American portion of therecording: the seven Collegians, Mrs Teale and her bitchy daughter Sophie, and Billy Boyden.

Jane, I just finished typing up the recipe for the custard pie that I will make this weekend. What's interesting is that one of the variations the author suggests is a sugarless custard in which you add a little more cinnamon and nutmeg to the egg mix. I like the sounds of that. I may not go whole hog the first time I try it, but I may cut the sugar in half.

I'm sure she did.  The Humane Society here is pretty careful. And there was a lot of interest in her from pet people on FB.
