TOD - in the '70s, the heyday of TV miniseries, I worked 2 evenings a week and was very involved in community theatre.  I missed a lot of weekday evening television.  Richard and I "courted" watching I, CLAUDIUS, which is why we used the Masterpiece Theatre theme as our wedding processional.

Think I'll use today's posts to make some additions to our Netflix queue...

And of course.....when I see a performance of stunning wrongness in a show....I always wonder:  "Whose boyfriend is HE?"

I've seen a few local performers and asked the same question. ::)

Does TOM BROWN'S SCHOOLDAYS count as a mini-series?  Or was that a Masterpiece Theatre and therefore not a mini-series?

Didn;t they just used to call these things that became "mini-series" two-p[art movie of the weeks before they came up with the "mini-series" name?

That the government is allowed to do this is the shocker.  The fact that no one will stand up to this and take this crap down is the shocker.  For some, this money is how they live - they've already had it taken from their paychecks and they've already paid taxes on those earnings.  If people don't see how wrong and how sickening this is, well, then they are wee sheep.  Ayn Rand was right, at least in this aspect, with government taking money that they have no right to just because, well, because they don't know how to run a country fiscally, and have wasted trillions of people's dollars and that in just the last six years.

Had a quesadilla for lunch.  And that will be IT for the day - I seriously have to lose twenty pounds pronto and then another twenty after that, which I can do more slowly.  I have, as they say, had it.

But someone has to pay for those $550 screwdrivers and the $900 toilet seats, or whatever the heck they were talking about on CNN.

Seriously, they thought when they made the law that they were being reasonable by not taxing social security benefits at all for people making very little money, and then gradually increasing the percentage of the social security that was taxable.

Problem is the amounts of your overall income threshold at which they started taxing your social security benefits is really kind of low.

So some people started deferring their discretionary amounts of "other income" [meaning some people strated deferring any amounts they can actually control] to monitor how much of their social securituy benefits would be taxed - and that's really abd for the ecopnomy, IMHO.

I had answered some local burrito restaurant's movie trivia question back in December. It was about "Les Miz" and won. Well, I forgot to pick up the prize until the other day. Turned out to be dinner for two at the burrito place and two free movie tickets. I like that.

It's like when I got into the movie GREASE for free on opening night because I had the best "dressed like the 50's" outfit on - and I didn't even know there was going to be a contest!

Impressed you could answer a question about "Les Miz", DR John G.  They haven't even released that thing yet, have they?

I dunno. I didn't have to answer a question about the movie, though. I just had to answer that the musical premiered at the Palais des Sports in Paris.

Well, I must be off...I'm leaving work early!  I'm going to my parents' house to help move all their stuff off their back deck.  They're going to have a whole new enclosed deck built and their "stuff" needs to be moved.  My niece will also be helping, so it won't only be me, which is good. :)

Be back later!
