I'm in the Admiral's Club, which is also tiny.  But I can relax here until just before boarding, which is in about ninety minutes or so.

Helper got the computer - of course they replaced the hard drive as I knew they most likely would because of the recall.  So, she made them show her the steps, then she brought it home and called Apple so they'd be on the phone with her.  She got through the first steps fine then was asked for my wireless network password.  She texted me and I gave it to her so that was fine.  She then chose transfer information from Time Machine, and it began what could be a nine-hour transfer.  That, too, is ridiculous.  I really don't want it to complete the transfer without her being there and, of course, if it were to take the full nine hours Apple Care would be conveniently gone in case we had any problems, which I certainly hope we don't.  Right now, it's saying another seven hours and fifty minutes, but I cannot imagine why it would take so long given the fact that I have less than a third of the total amount of gigs actually in use.  She'll stick around and/or come back in a bit but everything appears to be working fine.

Greetings from Charm City, AKA Baltimore.  I took the train here this morning.  I'm going to see Peter Pan for most likely the last time.  I'll be sure and give Captain Hook your regards, BK!

I did see Ms. Channing in Hello, Dolly! twice.  Once in around 1979 at the National Theater in Washington, DC and approximately 1994 st the Kennedy Center.  I enjoyed it both times.  I remember her speaking after the show and saying something about "Washington, DC and environs" both times!  I imagine she used the word everywhere she went.  For some reason it gets a laugh.

The movie has been criticized for various reasons over the years, but it's one of my favorites (no surprise).

Not sure if I want to go to Ford's Theater now!

When I was in DC years ago, there was a performance on in the theater, so we couldn't go inside.

However, we did go into the house across the street and saw the bed where Lincoln died.  They still had the pillow with his blood on it, wrapped in some sort of clear material.

Travel vibes for BK, who is probably in the air by now.  Should I go out in the back yard and wave, just in case?

It was horrible having to get up so early today. But we had 5,000 people running, making it the largest 5K in the city. Then we poured case after case of wine for the folks crossing the finish line. It was fun, but exhausting. I came home and slept for four hours. Still feel tired.

I'm looking at the schedule for Cathy Rigby's PETER PAN in Schenectady, NY.  Would like to catch that.  Be more fun to go to Boston for it, but that week will be shot for me.

We are in for another snowstorm starting tomorrow and continuing into Monday.  It looks like we'll get to Lima and back, provided we skedaddle out of there as soon as we can after church.

From DR TCB:
Quote
Yesterday at lunch, one of our group said that he and his wife were planning on spending a week this summer at the Shakespeare Festival.  Another member told him not to miss eating at Ashland's very best restaurant.  I didn't think i had ever heard you mention it.

I haven't heard anyone mention it in awhile.  I just never had anything there I especially enjoyed.  Bryan liked it and so did Keith.  I guess no one has felt the need to return.  It is a shame that we aren't big fans of any of the restaurants here.

In nice weather I like to take guests to Kobe, the Japanese restaurant I enjoy, and sit with a view of the creek.

I heard TAMING OF THE SCREW is good even though it has been modernized.

I don't know that I'd go to the actual service, but afterward they are asking people to line the street from the high school to the outskirts of town.  It's about 3 miles give or take.  He is being buried in a nearby town.   So the entire length of town will be  lined with people and the 2000 flags.   I think it's an amazing tribute.

Wow, that is something to have such a great turn out to honor him.

Bruce I found the Metro to be clean, easy and efficient the few times I was in DC.  Craig has had very different experiences with it and the rare times he actually puts something on his FB page it is to complain about the Metro.

Greetings from the airport, a very small airport like Burbank, kind of.  So, no real Priority line like in LA although I got right through in a minute and through security very quickly although they, unlike LA, made first class go through that nauseating scanner thing.   Additionally, some goon also patted down my stomach even though I went through the scanner fine.  Unbelievable.

Did you raise your arms going through the scanner?  It might have been the new kind that picks up zippers & other things.  The good part is you don't need a full body check, they did do a quick one where the whatever shows up on their screen.

Mine was totally quick since I had loads of pockets on my pants with zippers.
