Bruce I haven’t been to the Studio City Jerry’s Deli since the last time we stayed at the Sportsman’s Lodge-a long time ago.  How is the Lodge doing?

Danise, you did tell me so.   :)
I’m glad to see you back and feeling better.  Yes, isn’t it nice to be missed, and you had the bonus to know you were needed.  :D

Of course my favorite is the movie based on my early life experiences:

"Moldfinger" - story of an impressionable lad from Philly who takes a job as a sous chef at a Jersey Boardwalk eatery; his morning chores include mixing Ketchup in with the hamburger to cover the greenish color and scraping the mold off of the pie slices so lovingly displayed in the glass dessert showcase.

Wrong day and wrong topic.. We are having a morning of smiles.
So far: Andy Griffith "What it was was Football"
                                "Romeo & Juliet"
Wayne & Shuster "Rinse The Blood Off My Toga"
                                         "Shakespearian Baseball Game"
             Stan Freberg  "Christmas Dragnet"
                                    "Elderly Man River"

Think some Anna Russell may be next.

CBC is still running Wayne and Shuster classics. They are sadly missed. The two sketches mentioned are probably there best and are up there with any of the other classic sketches. Favorite line from Rinse the Blood?....

Just watch the two Thunderbird movies. Still enjoyable and lovable in a kitschy sort of way. I like the models and special effects work. Todays films are too slick and you know they are special effects in the same way you knew that these films were special effects.

I think there is a storm going on over my house. The rumble of thunder is very loud and yet it is not raining. Is this possible?

With that earth shattering news I shall say goodnight.

Goodnight.

Mispellings of shows I saw two weeks ago:

Caroline, or Shange -- a little boy must choose between his beloved maid and the author of For Colored Girls Who Considered Suicide.

The Trogs -- Christina Crawford recreates her mother's role in this long delayed sequel to the 1970 horror pic

I Am My Owl Wife -- I have no idea what this one is about...

SWEENEY TOAD -  driven mad with rage over a Gallic recipe, said Toad meets up with slightly wacky lady salamander, and the pair rampage through the sodden streets of Paris selling hot dogs from a rolling cart with an ingenious guillotine chair that cuts the legs off French epicures hidden inside...

Oohh... Thanks for the food report, BK... I've basically been feeling good today, but I've been strangely fatigued... Hmmm...  -And I did have a few bites of Tammy's apple pie, so...

"Just how serious is it Doctor?"

"Extremely serious.  It starts with a slight fever and dryness of the throat.  When the virus penetrates the red blood cells, the victim becomes dizzy and begins to experience an itchy rash, then the poison goes to work on the central nervous system, severe muscle spasms followed by the inevitable grueling.  At this point, the entire digestive system collapses accompanied by uncontrollable flatulence until finally, the poor bastard is reduced to a quivering wasted piece of jelly."

No, no, the epicures aren't hidden inside... of course I meant, a hot dog cart, inside which is hidden a guillotine chair that cuts the legs off the epicures... then lady salamander chops the meat into sausage and stuffs it into what we always called "derma" - that's intestines, to y'all, and Voila! ya got hot dogs... Tammy, Jose and I all went to Jerry's Deli last night after rehearsal.  Tammy had apple pie ala mode and I had something called an Italian Salad (salami, provolone, etc).  My salad was grotesquely bad and my tummy has been weird today - not terrible, just weird.  Poor Tammy, who said the apple pie tasted really odd and who stopped eating it after four bites, woke up at five, threw up, and has been nauseous all day and is now in pain, so that means she probably has food poisoning thanks to that disgusting restaurant.  She's getting some meds now and hopes she'll be okay enough to do some light rehearsing tonight.  Otherwise, I've told her to stay home and rest and we'll do her stuff tomorrow night.  I called Jerry's Deli and spoke to a manager who said she'd pass on my complaints to corporate.  Corporate called me within two minutes and was genuinely apologetic and is sending me gift certs - of course, I have no plans at all to go back there for quite some time to come and if I use said certs it won't be at the Studio City Jerry's.
There's a difference between certs and "Certs," which is basically a breath mint, I think.  Be careful when you open the mail, BK!
