I just read this week's NEW YORK magazine which has a very good review for Nathan Lane and his comedy THE NANCE, which I'd very much like to see, and a lacerating and viciously funny review of Tom Cruise's new film OBLIVION (are Cruise and Travolta in competition to produce the worst L. Ron Hubbard sci fi mess?), which is another reason to detest Cruise.

The film has gotten some mixed reviews to be sure.  The story is not, however, one of L. Ron Hubbard's.

I'd read a headline somewhere that said that "Oblivion" is supposed to be a hit...at least, financially.

That calls for a Rock of Ages parody lyric under the Times article

Everything's a song cue these days.

in the comment box, parody of Waiting for a Girl Like You (as sung by Tom Cruise to his fans)

I frankly don't care if it's by L. Ron Hubbard or Old Mother Hubbard. I only report what the review said. It made me laugh a lot since I detest both Tom Cruise and his cult.

Did a three-mile jog, then had lunch with a friend - I had to go to her, in some horrifying place called Sunland/Tujunga, which, to me, looks like the armpit of somewhere.  We managed to at least find the nearby Coco's, where I had a citrus glazed hunk of salmon and vegetables - total calorie count 650.

We were just saying how annoying  Taking Care of Business is, we were not saying b=how annoying Tom TCB is.

So there is electricity on the ship.

It's not a Carnival line, I take it?

Hi all!  I just had to share the news that the plumber left a  little while ago and a that means that the kitchen project is FINISHED!!!!!!

Now it's time to wash, sort, throw away old dishes and decided what goes where in the many cabinets and drawers that I now have!!!!

I think you all know I never had an ice maker before.  Well it just made it's first ice--all five little pieces.  I had to laugh.  I don't know why but I felt like that commercial where the kid comes and tells Mama he made pee pee.  I'm so proud!

You watch your phraseology!

No, we are indeed not the Triumph.  We are sailing smoothly thru the Gulf of Mexico heading for Miami.  We are due in Miami at 10:00 (no early arrival), and we sail again at 5:30 p.m.

Yes, I am fine.  Still I must admit that traveling as a gimp can be very exhausting.  Now that I have settled into my cabin, and have almost mastered my electric scooter; things are much easier.

This woman who I had chatted with yesterday, was waiting for the elevator as I tried to maneuver my chariot out of the narrow opening and managed to run it into the wall instead.  I apologized as I got the thing off of the lift to which she replied, "Why don't you try having another beer next time."

Is this the euphemism they use these days for those gossiped-about shipboard activities, then?

Or is it more a metaphor?

Well, it's time for me to leave.  I'm going to my parents' house for dinner.  She's making tacos!  My cousin is up from Oregon for a job interview, right here in Tumwater...just a few blocks from where I live!  Hopefully, he'll eventually get some good news!  They would really like to move up here and be near to family.

Until later!

But before I go...
