Well, you've read the notes, the notes rapped and rhymed, and now it is time for you to post until the rappin' and rhymin' cows come home.

From last night:

Also went to JOS Bank today - they were having a sale again - this time everything 50% off.  I bought four pairs of slacks, really nice slacks.  They'd already been discounted and with the half off on top of that, they were under sixty bucks apiece but when you bought one pair the next pair was fifteen dollars - so two pants cost fifty-nine bucks and the other two cost fifteen each.  Pretty great.  They had to tailor the bottoms, so I won't have them for a week.

I love it when that happens!  A few years ago, I bought a new, $60 coat at Fred Meyer.  With discounts and coupons, it ended up costing me only $3 and change!

Good morning, all.

Supposed to reach about 70 today.  Sadly, only for one day, then back to 60-ish as the high which is a few degrees below normal for this time of year.

And that is the morning's weather report.

I'm being told by my computer that I need to install updates. So, I guess I'll listen to my computer for a change.

Good morning, all!

The mouse is back and this trap I've set is doing nothing. I must plan a new course of action.

I'm off to Toyland. I've got three orchestra scores to bind.

I will be leaving in a few minutes to do a radio interview for the ANGEL STREET auditions.  I am going into the studio because they also tape it for local access television.  If it doesn't turn out too badly, I may post a link.  If it turns out badly, this will be the ONLY mention on HHW of the event.

I loved watchin' RAPPIN' AND RHYMIN' and I can certainly see what kids at that time would love it and have great memories of it.  Those kids are remarkable and the choreography is fresh as a daisy (a Great Gatsby reference.)

Re Noel Coward songs (from yesterday's discussion topic).  I see these on my computer drive, can't recall what I did them for.

Tune of Noel Coward’s DON’T PUT YOUR DAUGHTER ON THE STAGE, MRS. WORTHINGTON

Don't bet your fortune on the stage,
Mrs. Moneybags,
Don't bet your fortune on the stage.
Though the actors are highly touted
The weekly nut is really tough
Though I'm aware that you’re rich
And love the play that they pitch
That’s really not enough.
It’s a great show, and it seems the danger’s rather small
But could you really lose it all
And not get in a rage?
So be strong
Mrs. Moneybags,
It’s wrong
Mrs. Moneybags,
Don't bet your fortune on the stage.

And this one:  I guess someone must have put their bare feet on the stage during a performance!

Don't put your bare feet on the stage, Mrs. Worthington,
Don't put your bare feet on the stage,
The proscenium is overcrowded
And the stench is pretty tough
Though I'm aware of the fact
Your feet burn to act,
They haven't got the stuff.
You have nice toes, to give the digits all they're due,
But don't you think your corns are too
Disgusting for your age?
I repeat
Mrs. Worthington,
Your feet
Mrs. Worthington,
Don't put your bare feet on the stage.

Maybe it's having to scramble, maybe it's just that younger people don't give proper respect to the albums for some reason, but sometimes I think maybe even BK forgets how many many people truly enjoyed  what he did all the years as he was doing it.

When we went to the premiere evening of FIRST NUDIE MUSICAL in NYC at the 68th Street Playhouse, it was not some obscure little evening (which some people seem to be rewriting history to imagine it was).   It was so much fun to be there, and Bruce Kimmel was already a name in the industry - I have no idea why people (not here) act as if it were a nothing event.  I was there (didn't know BK then, except from seeing him on TV of course).

it wasn't the opening of Gone with the Wind, but quite the fun experience and fans of the talent were very happy to be there and more than rewarded in fun for lining up and waiting.

BK, what do you think of the novel, "The Great Gatsby"? And have you seen any of the other filmed versions?

I saw The Great Gatsby when it was first released (shortly after reading the novel for the first time) it was a massive "event" film at the time. The photography and look of the film was superb. I thoroughly enjoyed it even though I didn't think it connected on an emotional level.
