About a month ago I bought a tall used bookcase to replace a short one in my Momcave.  It's been sitting in the garage and today Richard and I moved it in and I've redistributed my books.  The new (to me) piece has an enclosed cabinet on the bottom, so I was able to stash a lot of stuff that was sitting on the shelves in front of the books.  I can see the books much better now and I'm very pleased.

I overslept and was late for work. Just before I work up I was dreaming I was at work so was quite shocked to see what time it was. I'm usually up by 7am and don't need an alarm clock.

I guess I will have to use one. Can't let this happened again.

ASK BK

I had Itunes on random play and "The Lights & The Smiles" came up.

Wondering what ever happened with the stage version of The First Nudie Musical? (Which also happened to be mentioned earlier today. I wasn't at the movie, but was at the stage version)

We unfortunately had the most dreadful, fawning, oily, love-me-love-me waiter I have ever encountered. I told Brce I wanted to give him a valium and prop him in a corner.  The lunch was quite good, and then he came back to my office and listened to DEAREST ENEMY.

First time I read that I thought it was the fawning waiter who went back to the office and listened to DEAREST ENEMY.

Shayne, I'm just waiting for someone to step up to the plate who has the guts to stage Nudie - there's nothing to be done until that happens.

No movement can happen on Creature until I find an element I can use for the transfer of the theatrical version.

Then Doug Haverty reminded me that today was the day we were meeting with the tech people about all the website changes.  So, we drove to Granada Hills and had a great meeting and I gave the go-ahead to begin the transition to a much more up-to-date place.  Shortly they will be updating everything, but you won't see that - they're cloning the site, doing a ghost version that only they, Doug, and I can see - and we'll make sure it is functioning exactly as we want in terms of this board and how I post my notes.  We are so far behind in terms of software updates, it's like we're in another century.  I told them I'd like to stay with both companies software-wise, just because that's what I'm used to, but if we find that the two alternative companies offer better things, we'll switch.  If it's the latter, this board will probably look a little different, but all archives will be saved and there.  I'd prefer not doing that, though - much easier if we stay where we are.

Apparently, the new software for the place I do my notes from, has tons of new stuff that wasn't available to me in this ancient version - I'll be able to bold, italicize and all that stuff - I'll be able to insert clickable links, videos, music - whatever I feel like and that will be totally great.  So, we're on the way!  We also talked about the radio show, and I think the way that will work is that you'll click on it and it will open a universal player (nothing to download) and you play it directly from the site itself.  That sounds great to me.

Great news, BK!!

Will it be possible to archive the radio show?

I've been home for about two hours and I'm exhausted.

Bruce Pomahac and I had lunch at a really good burger place on West 26th Street, called RARE. We unfortunately had the most dreadful, fawning, oily, love-me-love-me waiter I have ever encountered. I told Brce I wanted to give him a valium and prop him in a corner.  The lunch was quite good, and then he came back to my office and listened to DEAREST ENEMY. I was happy to hear his thoughts and answer his questions.

I need a nap.

maybe the waiter is a baritone in need of a gig

I have no doubt that the kid wore the shirt in order to get in trouble. Stories have been all over the news about children who get suspended for talking about Hello Kitty bubble guns at the school bus stop and for drawing pictures of their dads in the service holding a rifle and for pointing at someone and saying BANG ... etc., etc. etc.  He knew he would get in trouble.

You know, maybe he just wanted a three-day vacation (aka suspension).

Stranger things have happened.  I remember reading a headline (not the actual article, though) about some woman who called in fake bomb threat on a flight because she was supposed to be on the flight but was running late and wouldn't get there in time. :o

they make it sound as if the boy  did not make a disturbance and the shirt was a  non issue until this teacher made an issue of it during lunch they also say that the shirt did not specifically violate the dress code which makes me wonder again why the kid was arrested - especially as the principal seemed sympathetic to the kid as well
