TOD:

I'm expecting MAVERICK, Season Two, today, so I'll probably watch episodes of that this weekend.

Norman Felton, who produced DR. KILDARE, passed away a few months ago.

He was a publicity client.

I'm also not looking forward to seeing the new version of GATSBY.  It looks way too CGI glitzy for my taste.

Happy HHW anniversary to DR ChasSmith!  Did you say something yesterday about an upcoming visit to Ohio?

Thank you, DR Ginny!

Yes I did, but the one coming up in May will be a tight one with just time enough for family stuff.  I will keep y'all updated on plans for being out that way later in the summer or early fall.

What about it needs to be in 3D? The sweaters flying?

I have read the book now three times and love Fitzgerald's writing, but until I saw the movies, the story of the novel just wouldn't stick with me. I would remember the words more than what they were saying.

Thanks DR GINNY....

Well DR CHAS SMITH - anniversary boy - in August we will be doing THE DROWSY CHAPERONE and perhaps you and DR GINNY & Co can drive over.

And in May, of course, DR DRUXY's play about Carole Lombard will be produced in Fort Wayne.....which might not be too far from where you are....depending of course where in OHIO you will be.

Cincinnati.   But no time at all on that trip, anyway, I'm afraid.

Thanks to all for the positive comments on the interview.  Very nice to hear.....

DR DOUG R - I like Patrick Hamilton as well, the play was known as Angel Street on Broadway, and I am not sure why the title change.....but the script is titled Angel Street as well.  I was reading that Hamilton was badly disfigured when he was struck by an automobile in 1932 although he continued to write.

He wrote the screenplay adaptation of his play ROPE for Alfred Hitchcock.

I thought Arthur Laurents wrote the screenplay for "Rope."

Interesting.  Never knew that.  IMDb:

Hume Cronyn        (adapted by)
Patrick Hamilton    (from the play by)
Arthur Laurents     (screenplay)
Ben Hecht             uncredited
