I'm very lucky to have them.  They somehow went unnoticed by me when they were released (I was making a couple of moves around then, etc. etc.), and I ended up buying (I think) all five at Aaron's Records -- but still sealed, not used -- in the couple of years following.

DR DOUG R -- Nice observation.  The advent of Blu-ray collecting seems to have sent a lot of people with the collecting bent right over the edge.  I've never seen anything like the incredible MINUTIAE of collecting that these people so OCD-edly obsess over.  It's really beyond belief, and I actually enjoy occasionally reading through a thread or two of their fanatical ravings.  It helps me to appreciate my own relative sense of balance.

I was up so late last night (doing laundry, reading the notes, etc.) that it was inevitable that I would want to sleep in this morning.  And that I did, finally shaking off the groggy dreams and waking to a lovely late spring WARM day.  It's going up to nearly 80 today, and what we have here, right now, is PERFECT.

Nothing new this week and I've not had a lot of time for sitting down to watch or listen but I did watch (again) LES DIABOLIQUES on the French satellite TV channel - despite having it on DVD. I never get tired of seeing it. It was the PSYCHO of its day - I remember the film being discussed on TV with people describing how terrifying it was.

We have just had some torrential rain and I have, reluctantly, canceled the lovely outing we had planned for tomorrow.

Anthony Morelli has been here and gone, and we had a lovely visit. By the time he arrived I had bound 15 of the 25 vocal scores. I'll ship nine of them to Dublin on Monday.

I will now close up shop, head for home and begin the laundry.

Do you mean as a weight loss method?   My primary care physican, Dr. Oz, raves about it.

I’ve often thought obsessive Blu-ray collectors are a bit eccentric to say the least but eccentricity has reached new extremes on reading complaints on a Blu-ray forum about a forthcoming release. A film which has a cultish following has been eagerly awaited by some people on the forum but as soon as the distributor announced that the film was being paired with another film, as a double bill, there were huge cries of rage. Instead of seeing the accompanying film as a bonus (to watch or not watch) it was seen as some sort of ugly barnacle attached to their favorite film and such a thing shouldn’t be allowed to happen. Their beloved film should be released on its own - not besmirched by anything else. This resulted in the inevitable “No sale” comment. Understandably, the distributor commented “Sometimes I don't know why we even bother”.

I am curious about which film this is!  Would you enlighten, please?   :)

For DR Laura:

This was not only the carpet inside the casino, but outside the casino and down the passageway.

And there were several of these type of murals down the hall outside the casino.

Ah, being released in August on a double-film BD with "Killing Me Softly".   Of course, the second film will absolutely RUIN "The Hot Spot" experience!!!!  How dare they give value for money?

Sigh.

Perhaps I should say I'm "glad" it's Friday.

That way, I'm playing Pollyanna's "Glad Game".

And speaking of Blu ray (!!), it's high time Disney gave us "Pollyanna" (Hayley Mills version) and "Swiss Family Robinson" in that format!

I've got a slew of Blu ray discs that need watching.

Anyone else finding themselves behind the BD-watching eight-ball?

One of my favorite shows -- "Person of Interest" -- had it's second season finale last night.  Quite an episode, too.

Regarding discussion earlier this week about shows with tiresome characters (that's the way I interpreted it), I love "Person of Interest" but I'm really "over" the character played by Amy Acker.  She's been recurring this season and escaped last night's seaso finale to suggest a return in season three.

Acker is always portraying a warped, psychotic or "unusual" person in her TV appearances.
