And it's way past time that Warner/Turner delivered a Blu ray of "The Band Wagon".  I mean, "come on"!

I've got a slew of Blu ray discs that need watching.

Anyone else finding themselves behind the BD-watching eight-ball?

I have several and one that just arrived here at work a few minutes ago:  "Strictly Ballroom"!  I love this movie. :D

I'll have to watch it later tonight, though...I have a union meetin'.

I’ve often thought obsessive Blu-ray collectors are a bit eccentric to say the least but eccentricity has reached new extremes on reading complaints on a Blu-ray forum about a forthcoming release. A film which has a cultish following has been eagerly awaited by some people on the forum but as soon as the distributor announced that the film was being paired with another film, as a double bill, there were huge cries of rage. Instead of seeing the accompanying film as a bonus (to watch or not watch) it was seen as some sort of ugly barnacle attached to their favorite film and such a thing shouldn’t be allowed to happen. Their beloved film should be released on its own - not besmirched by anything else. This resulted in the inevitable “No sale” comment. Understandably, the distributor commented “Sometimes I don't know why we even bother”.

WTF?  Some people (a Sondheim reference) just don't know how to be grateful. :P

Of course, I'm still waiting for "At Long Last Love."

Right now, I'm listening to Faith Prince's brand new CD, Total Faith: Live From The Royal Room At The Colony.

She's funny!

I'm sure that BK has some stories. ;)

We have just had some torrential rain and I have, reluctantly, canceled the lovely outing we had planned for tomorrow.

Stay high and dry, Ginny!

This was not only the carpet inside the casino, but outside the casino and down the passageway.

One of my favorite shows -- "Person of Interest" -- had it's second season finale last night.  Quite an episode, too.

I think I know what we are watching tonight.  I believe we also have an episode to CASTLE to see.

yes lots of rain yesterday and today....but the sun is shining now.

We recently found the marriage information for our paternal grandparents....Willie Arthur Earles and Bertha Bell.....they were married February 2, 1909, by Judge Beatty Cecil in Huntsville, Scott County, Tennessee.

Willie had met my grandmother's cousin Minnie Bell when they were both at Middlesburg Teacher's College in 1905, and Minnie had done a little matchmaking.....and Willie's dad didn't want them to be married since Willie had started teaching back home in Casey County Kentucky, and teachers - even males - had to be unmarried.  But I guess Willie took the train down the Huntsville, and he and Bertha talked it over with her parents and then got married.....

Regarding discussion earlier this week about shows with tiresome characters (that's the way I interpreted it), I love "Person of Interest" but I'm really "over" the character played by Amy Acker.  She's been recurring this season and escaped last night's seaso finale to suggest a return in season three.

Acker is always portraying a warped, psychotic or "unusual" person in her TV appearances.

I agree and I haven't seen the latest episode.

I would prefer to see more of Sarah Shahi.

The laundry is finished, and the weekend is pretty open.

My set of CDs of the final mix arrived this afternoon, so I know what I'm doing tomorrow morning.

Thanks for the vibes.  We have just survived about 24 hours without food....well the cats went about 24 hours without food.  I gave some to Ricky and Boo, but only a little.  Then I ended up contacting my old vet and transferring back to her (her partner was pretty rude with my follow-up questions).  The other vet knows them and all their problems. She gave me some prescription food and some stuff to sprinkle on Callie's food.   It's ID and we've had that food in the past but none of them would eat it.   After 24 hours with very little food all three of them gobbled it down.  I figure it's not going to hurt any of them. They are all sleeping now.  Boo kept it down, at least I think she did and Callie seems ok for now.   Whew! again

Did a three-mile jog, then went to my lunch meeting, which was extremely interesting and could lead to something I would be very excited about.

I changed the title of the notes to The Real History of Varese Sarabande, because someone suggested that the other title might lead people to believe that mine was the revisionist history, when in fact it's the opposite.
