Topic of the Day:

Set to record on my DVR:  "Top Banana" with Phil Silvers...it's going to be on TCM today at 7:00 pm.

Hopefully the broadcast version of TOP BANANA will be better than the one released about a year ago on DVD.  That one had several sections "chopped" pout.

I would assume that it would be the same version...but you never know.

The chopped up one is the one I saw on TCM a couple of years ago.

I had a pretty drive to and from the nursery.  The views from there are beautiful, as is the drive on the country road back to the freeway.

JRand, did you catch INDESTRUCTIBLE MAN on TCM a few days back?

I had never seen it before...now I never need to see it again. I was very surprised at how badly is was done....and Casey Adams makes a terrible hero! Blech!

Marian Carr was the only good thing about the film. She is a pretty good actress.

Page three again.  And I'm sure FJL will be along tomorrow to tell everyone he hasn't been here but will catch up soon.  We need some ACTION because when I come to this fershluganah board at the end of an afternoon to see barely three pages, I wonder what the hell I'm doing with all these site redesigns and upgrades.  Frankly, they're having a hard time updating this board and if I see one more day of barely three pages by four o'clock my time, then I'm just leaving it the way it is and if it crashes and goes away and we lose close to a million posts, tough beans.  This is HARD stuff we're doing, so let's get some damn postin' goin' on before I have to really haul out the bitch-slap machinery.

Sounds like DR John G. and I face similar challenges in the midwestern familial visitation department.

Well, I move on to the next one tomorrow morn'.

I love ROBINSON CRUSOE ON MARS!

But that Indestructible Man thing ... oh my, I think I know what that is.  I bought the DVD, thinking (assuming?) it would be something ... and ... it is nothing.  NOTHING.

Here's a test to see if you can actually embed the video within a post by using the share link on You Tube.  IF the video appears here, it still actually plays via You Tube.  Here we go:

Well, that failed.  I'll be curious to see if that works in the updated version.  It would definitely work within the new version of the notes, though.

Friday morning greetings!  I was out quite late last night with my book group, discussing The Paris Wife and eating gluten-free angel food cake with cherries.

Did you enjoy "The Paris Wife"?  So far I haven't been tempted to read it.

I'd read it before - borrowed from the library on my Kindle.  This time I bought a paperback and loved it even more.

I visited with my Mom for a bit and then met Richard at the Y.  We had to wait out a bad thunderstorm before coming home to fix honey lemon chicken for dinner.  It was dee- lish!

At some point I will probably read it then.  I'm waiting to see if it is a book group pic as many of the members have shown interest in it.

Good news about Dana!

It sure is.  I expect the power of facebook and the law helped encourage her to return home.

Keith made a delicious dinner except for the raunchy tofu we had to pick out and trash.  No tofu jokes please, I'm hoping we don't get sick from it. :(

For Jane - the new book is now available for the Nook, Kobo, and we're still waiting on Kindle.  Here's the link for the Nook version - it's CHEAP!

I'm very excited this is now on my Nook.  I can't believe the price, though I can't hold it or have it autographed.

I wish I hadn't just begun a book this morning.  I will be reading Murder....... next.  Even if the long book I am expecting from the library becomes available I think I should be able to read them both before my library book is due back.
