I was awakened by the ringing of the cell phone - I didn't answer it, but the same person called back five minutes later and I did answer and this is what I heard: "Hi, this is so-and-so, I'm a real estate broker - when are you planning to move?"  I said, "I'm not."  He said thank you and hung up.  I may call back the number and demand to know how he got the cell phone number, which very few people have.

I'd have asked:  "What's it to you?"  It may have been a "cold call" and he may have had no idea with whom he was speaking...just calling to see if he could represent you in either a sale or a buy (cheeky monkey that he was!).

He called me by name - I'm calling the little peckerwood right now.

I must say, Elmore, while listening to Cinderella that your favorite singing actress comes across quite poorly. She's anything but magical. In fact, she simply sounds old and tired, and I don't mean in just the scene where she's meant to be an old bag lady.

To all those idiots on chat boards praising her as the greatest gift to musical theatre, I find her voice unremarkable and unpleasant. On "Jule Styne In Hollywood" (PS Classics) her thin tone does nothing for the beautiful "Winter Was Warm." I am amused these days by her press keeping her in the news: she wants that Tony!

She and Danny Troob are the two reasons I'm not purchasing the CD or seeing the production. Danny's work is good, but I found him a totally unpleasant creep working on a CD with him about 20 years ago.

I did call him back - he got very nervous and immediately gave me the web address of the "do not call registry" - a government policing organization - it was indeed a cold call.  I went to that .gov website and registered both of my numbers - after thirty-one days if any telemarketer or person like that calls, I can then register a complaint with them.  Also, I didn't know you can register a complaint there even if you don't register your number if you get a telemarketer call that's a machine rather than a person.

I also went to the Intelius site, which is a class action lawsuit in the making.  In order to opt out of having your information there, you have to send them a form of identification online or by fax - they ask you to black out your photo and license number if using your license.  What a crock.  They make it so no one can opt out because who is going to send a form of ID to these scumsuckers - what's next - they put THAT online.  Class action lawsuit in the making!

Otherwise the read thru went very well and everyone seems to be on board.....well....except for one....but that's not unexpected.  She is very pleased and excited to have found a typo in the printed script.

Seriously?

Jane had snow today, and Seattle and Portland had the lowest daytime temperature in the lower 48.  Obviously Ashland is not considered a city in the lower 48.

We are a town, not a city.  You didn't mention Tacoma was left out ;)  It was also colder at our house than in the town of Ashland, maybe 36 degrees yesterday.  I'm sure it was much colder overnight when the snow fell.

I know Danny from a show more than 25 years ago and found him a nice person. And I have liked his work in the past, especially Big River. His orchestrations for Cinderella, however, are too colorless and homogenized.

I'm always amazed how quickly the pet organizations get in there and rescue pets.  This was the first rescue photo I saw on Tuesday.  This is of the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation.

MBarnum:  Regarding the woman captured on camera hurrying along past the man in London -- I'm with you on this one.  If I'm walking down the street and suddenly come upon a crazed-eyed man wielding a bloody machete explaining, on camera, why he hacked to death the soldier lying dead on the sidewalk, I'd be making tracks, too.

Yup.

Does your phone have a block option?  We recently began blocking unwanted calls.

And after an extended amount of time the callers get lax or they figure out ways to say they are legal to call, such as a survey.

I'm glad you nailed the guy.
