Grabbing a quick cup of coffee and a quick ketchup here, before leaving for the always lovely Lafayette Theater where I shall watch THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH (1934).  Actually, I'm already late getting my arse moving, but I don't mind being just on time or even a little late for that one.  I don't really need to see it this morning but I want to support the theater, and from there I'm driving down to Paramus, NJ to do a little shopping -- something I like to do a couple of times a year.

And thanks to BK for the Helen Keller link.  I hadn't seen that one before.  It's great to see and hear the real Annie Sullivan, too.  I think there's footage of Keller actually doing a little public speaking but it's been years since I've seen much of anything about her.  It's kind of sad, but more than that, just simply bizarre, to realize that so many people today probably don't even recognize the name Helen Keller.  When we were growing up, she was as much a presence, an influence, a force, as anyone in public life.

For those who missed it - you must watch this.  For anyone who loves The Miracle Worker, here is the real Annie Sullivan and Helen Keller.  http://www.wimp.com/helenkeller/

On Thursday, I head for Fort Wayne for the staging of LOMBARD.

I am certainly looking forward to being there for the festivities, but I am dreading the actual travel. Going there from Austin, I have to fly to Atlanta, then to Fort Wayne.  Coming home, I go to Detroit, then on to Austin.  Both trips are going to take a full day.

George, you're the only person who can save those avatar snapshots. None of us know how to do it. Without you the board would have no History Keeper. You can't ever leave and you can't die!!!

Hear, hear.  Or is it Hear here.

DR Jane, you had to scroll down to the photo gallery at the bottom of the story I posted yesterday and go through the photos to see the horse coming out of the day care center

Last night I went out to see a friend playing music in a local bar.  I ran into several friends and had a really good time.

Good morning, all! I slept late because I slept so poorly last night, with a lot of curious dreams I no longer remember except for the one with the homicidal clown who killed everyone except Sara Gilbert and me. We escaped.

I need coffee.

Well, here I am on Long Island with oatmeal, walnuts, raisins and cinnamon and coffee at 6:35am

well here I am on Long Island and nobody has brought me breakfast in bed yet

I got up while the others were still asleep and made my own breakfast. That's what happens in my world.

Good morning, all.

Slept long, occasionally interrupted by the rumble of thunderstorms and all sorts of pounding rain.

Thanks, Cillaliz, for the head's up on the flash flood warning. It seems likely, just hopefully not at my house. Being in a hilly area, though, could make for treacherous driving.

TOD:

Entire score of "The Good Companions," though I'm partial to Stage Door John, Ta Love, Stage Struck Me, I'll Tell the World and Always Darkest Just Before the Dawn

"Just You and Me" from "I and Albert"

"Beastly Beastly" from "Passion Flower Hotel"

"Moon in My Pocket," "The Real Thing," "In a Simple Way" and "Escape Me Never" from "Robert and Elizabeth"

"The Party's on the House," "Long Ago" and "If the Rain's Got to Fall" from "Half a Sixpence"

Anything from "Irma la Douce," if that French/English hybrid applies

"Nazi Party Pooper" from "Songbook"
