Saturday morning greetings!  Richard and I did some errands yesterday afternoon, went to the Y, and picked up dinner on the way home.  I don't know where the evening went, but I slept 'til 9 this morning.

DR Elmore, I had weird dreams last night, too.  One was so scary and vivid that I was almost afraid to go back to sleep.  Must be the full moon...

TOD:

"FINGS AIN'T WOT THEY USED TO BE" (either the actual lyrics or the ones from the pop version)
Something from SALAD DAYS
Something from  Lionel Bart's Robin Hood flop TWANG
Something from OH, WHAT A LOVELY WAR
Something from EXPRESSO BONGO (although that actually may be from the 50's)

FINGS AIN'T WOT THEY USED T'BE - which I saw on a family visit to the Garrick Theatre in 1960.

I was frustrated with the changes of the first one (the reboot), mainly because the characters are all different ages and J.J. Abrams had them all at Star Fleet at the same time.  That didn't make sense.  For this movie, that doesn't matter.  It all seems to make sense and was done very well...and the quality of special effects have been improved since the first movie.

Thank you and all very interesting, in fact more than what I wanted and am glad of it.  Let me re-word my question, between the 3D & the 2D which version did you prefer? :)

Trying to find Twang, although I remember not caring for it.  I have most of the others here.  Had forgotten about Windy City so I'll listen to that.

George, you're the only person who can save those avatar snapshots. None of us know how to do it. Without you the board would have no History Keeper. You can't ever leave and you can't die!!!

I concur -  even if you donlt keep the history

Thanks...I'll do what I can.

BK, have you heard or heard of Blitz!?  It's been a while since I've listened to it, but I remember that I liked it.

Grabbing a quick cup of coffee and a quick ketchup here, before leaving for the always lovely Lafayette Theater where I shall watch THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH (1934).  Actually, I'm already late getting my arse moving, but I don't mind being just on time or even a little late for that one.  I don't really need to see it this morning but I want to support the theater, and from there I'm driving down to Paramus, NJ to do a little shopping -- something I like to do a couple of times a year.

I used to shop there when we lived in NJ.  How long is your drive to get there?

Ahh...I love the size and 3D of the IMAX, but the IMAX 3D was too loud.  But to me, the 2D was cropped more at the top and bottom to make it more widescreen than the IMAX, and seeing it after the IMAX, it all felt just a little too close.  I'm sure that if I had seen the 2D version first (or if I hadn't seen the IMAX at all), then it would be perfectly fine.  I did like that the 2D version as not as loud.  It was quite comfortable without being too quiet.

It's great to see and hear the real Annie Sullivan, too.
When we were growing up, she was as much a presence, an influence, a force, as anyone in public life.

DR Jane, you had to scroll down to the photo gallery at the bottom of the story I posted yesterday and go through the photos to see the horse coming out of the day care center

I don't see any horses, maybe the photos have changed.

Well, I must be going.  Cinder Ella has a 1 pm matinee today, and then I'm going to my parents' house to visit with the aunts for the last time.  Tonight, I'm going to see Legally Blonde and the aunts are leaving at about 4 am tomorrow morning.  After tomorrow's Cinder Ella matinee, I'll have the rest of the day and the whole of Monday to myself!!  I can't wait! :D

Be back later!

Took a carload of stuff over the the AAUW garage sale venue and came home with 5 vintage Vera Bradley items that they need help pricing.  I've identified all the patterns, but 2 of them are a style that I don't recognize.

A question to all of you: If you were really rich which charities (or other causes) would you wish to donate to?

I was wondering the same thing. And what makes the long drive worthwhile to you?
