A LOVELY STUMBLE-THROUGH AND A THURBER CARNIVAL

Well, you've read the notes, the notes stumbled through and were Thurberesque, and now it is time for you to post until the stumbling cows come home.

We will be going shopping in about a half hour.

Walk to the store, buy food, walk back and drag it up 3 flights of stairs. Put away the food and then go back out to a second store to buy more food because the first store doesn't have all the stuff we need/want. Walk back home with the second round of purchases, drag them up 3 flights of stairs and put the stuff away and then go back to bed.

And that is nice news, DR Ben.  But I do hear we're in for another fine mess of thunderstorms this evening.  Oy!

Love the Thurber drawing.  Leave it to BK to have that on his damned wall!  Well, I must take out my Thurber Carnival album -- which I'm not even sure I still have.

Thurber was such a "presence" in the day.  Almost like... Helen Keller.

Good morning, all!

I could not sleep last night; at 2am, i was sitting at the computer revising my liner notes; it was something to do. As a consequence, I did not want to get out of bed at 7, when the alarm rang. Since I cannot easily sleep in daylight, i dragged myself out of bed around 7:45, wishung I were dead. So, I'm up, not very happy, not very awake, and needing coffee.

It will be a very cautious and hopefully quiet day.

I am desirous of another cup of coffee.  In order to get up and grab me another K-cup brew, I must dislodge the large slumbering tabby on my lap.  Well, we do what we gotta do.

DR ELMORE remember when you are driving a rental car you can tell which side the gas tank door is on by looking at the fuel gauge - the triangle next to a gas pump sign will indicate that for you.

Today is our Open House to open our season....which includes light refreshments and a few of the songs from You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown.

Tickets also go on sale - and there was NO presale for CB, so all of those parents and kids will be lined up to reserve 30 tickets each- even though they only need 6 or 7 - but Aunt Rose from Evansville said she MIGHT want to come....  I am sure no one told them that they can only reserve a total of TEN tickets without payment.....

That is from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.  Then the board meeting....and then I get to come home!

DR JRand62, you terrify me!

Now that I know tomorrow is going to be a wet day, I am debating a trek to Toyland to cart all of my work there. At this point, the debate is in favor of staying here and chancing it tomorrow,

I hope it's a huge success! How are you feeling about it?

DR cillaliz, I loved the photo of Callie you posted last night. DR Ben was right about the green eyes; the photo really catches them.

Well I am sure it will be a big success - and hopefully sell all of the available tickets during the run.  It is the kind of show that sells a LOT of tickets to relatives as opposed to the general public.  There are 21 kids in the ensemble - so there will be lots of running and screaming in the lobby and crumbled cookies and spilled punch in the theatre.....

I am working in the box office beginning at 1 p.m. - but I don't know how long I can take it...we shall see.

I just took my daily two-mile walk, thinking it would be slightly more comfortable than over the previous few days.

WRONG.

I had to wonder if I would make it back up the driveway to the house.  It's around 81 here right now.  Let's face it, I've always been one to sweat like a pig anyway, but maybe the humidity is a little higher today?

Meanwhile the outlook for the next ten days is beautiful.  Maybe even a little too cool for June?  But it happens.  Who cares.  I'll take it.

So, I'm out there briskly walking along but secretly dying inside, and some jogger passes, leaving me in the dust --- AND HE'S NOT BREAKING A SWEAT.

Is life fair, I ask you?
