Frustrating and long day at work today
Me, too. I think Ginny's Monday rubbed off on us.

Sorry to hear about the dry heaves and the other nausea of the day, BK.

Ginger ale or ginger tea always help me out.

This is a really interesting link:

http://www.furia.com/misc/genremaps/engenremap.html

It's called "Every Noise At Once," and it is basically a sound map of all genres of music.

Hovering over a genre name and clicking on it gives you a pre-selected sound sample of music of that genre.
Clicking on the little arrow for that genre takes you to a new sound map, delving into further sub-categories or composers/artists in that genre.

And then it takes you to a separate website where it attempts to sell you a time share in the Florida Everglades.

Jogging  in the high temperatures you have been having there may be a problem, Bruce-

Maybe Heatstroke?

Heat stroke often occurs as a progression from milder heat-related illnesses such as heat cramps, heat syncope (fainting), and heat exhaustion. But it can strike even if you have no previous signs of heat injury.

Heat stroke results from prolonged exposure to high temperatures -- usually in combination with dehydration -- which leads to failure of the body's temperature control system. The medical definition of heat stroke is a core body temperature greater than 105 degrees Fahrenheit, with complications involving the central nervous system that occur after exposure to high temperatures. Other common symptoms include nausea, seizures, confusion, disorientation, and sometimes loss of consciousness or coma.
Symptoms of Heat Stroke

The hallmark symptom of heat stroke is a core body temperature above 105 degrees Fahrenheit. But fainting may be the first sign.

Other symptoms may include:

    Throbbing headache
    Dizziness and light-headedness
Lack of sweating despite the heat
    Red, hot, and dry skin
    Muscle weakness or cramps
    Nausea and vomiting
Rapid heartbeat, which may be either strong or weak
    Rapid, shallow breathing
Behavioral changes such as confusion, disorientation, or staggering
    Seizures
    Unconsciousness

First Aid for Heat Stroke

If you suspect that someone has a heat stroke, immediately call 911 or transport the person to a hospital. Any delay seeking medical help can be fatal.

While waiting for the paramedics to arrive, initiate first aid. Move the person to an air-conditioned environment -- or at least a cool, shady area -- and remove any unnecessary clothing.

If possible, take the person's core body temperature and initiate first aid to cool it to 101 to 102 degrees Fahrenheit. If no thermometers are available, don't hesitate to initiate first aid.

You may also try these cooling strategies:

Fan air over the patient while wetting his or her skin with water from a sponge or garden hose.
Apply ice packs to the patient's armpits, groin, neck, and back. Because these areas are rich with blood vessels close to the skin, cooling them may reduce body temperature.
Immerse the patient in a shower or tub of cool water, or an ice bath.

If emergency response is delayed, call the hospital emergency room for additional instructions.

After you've recovered from heat stroke, you'll probably be more sensitive to high temperatures during the following week. So it's best to avoid hot weather and heavy exercise until your doctor tells you that it's safe to resume your normal activities.

Well, I just had a lovely bout of dry heaving, about five minutes' worth.  I suppose since I haven't eaten since eight last night, there was nothing really to come up.  It did make me feel a bit better, though.  Not much, but a tiny bit.

You should be drinking ginger ale instead of 7-Up

TCB - Is a quart jar anything like a quarter jar they use for when people swear and have to put in a quarter?

Yes, it is; but you can't drink anything out of mine because it is overflowing with quarters

Home from final dress for the Coat show.  It is what it is, and for this age, it's pretty darned good.  Now, I'm attempting to write some inspirational song for 8th grade graduation using tunes from Mary Poppins.

Today, I went with my sister and brother-in-law to lunch at the casino that is down by George.  Before lunch, I went and played slots while they went and had a drink and played Keno.  On the first Keno game they played, my sister got six out of seven numbers for $400.00.  One more number and she would have won $8,700.00.

Needless to say, she bought lunch.

I would try "Sister Suffragette."  It would seem to lend itself to inspirational words.

I have never received one of these time-out things - but I'm an admin so maybe I wouldn't.  But we're really gone through everything and can't find anything that would be causing it.

If it was erasing our post when we timed-out, I would see it as a problem.  I have had it happen about 10 or 12 times since we went live, but since all you have to do is hit the "Post" button, I see it as a non-issue.

What browsers are the people this is happening to using? IT has not happened to me on the new board.

Funny you mention that song - I've been watching Glynis Johns in The Chapman Report.

I'm in that very wacky place of being weak from not eating - woozy and all - but not even wanting to have a saltine - a) don't want to eat anything that could then come up - dry heaves are as bad as I want - and b) I just don't feel like it.

Perhaps it hasn't happened to you, because you use Quick Reply.  Since the Time-Outs only started when we got the new board, I doubt seriously that it has anything to do with our browsers.

Do you, by chance, have a recliner?  I would suggest that you sit back and sip slowly on ginger ale or 7-Up or whatever you have with bubbles.

Do you remember the Oscar Wilde quote about this:

"One must have a heart of stone to read the death of Little Nell without dissolving into tears . . . of laughter."

After four years of off-and-on work on Mom's cookbook, I actually think I'm seeing an end to this. One recipe to add and a few minor details to go. Maybe within a couple of weeks.

Listening to "Most Happy Fella" with our very own Elmore on the recording tonight. Love so much of this score.
