We don't have a dishwasher either and I don't feel like I'm missing anything. If the choice was between a dishwasher and a washer and dryer, no contest, the washer dryer!

It's easier to just wash the dishes as they are used instead of waiting to run a dishwasher (as we do when we go to Anthony's parents on Long Island).

Well, I too will always prefer a washer & dryer.  I don't hang around waiting for the dishwasher ;)
What I like is the dishes that don't go into the washer fit the drainboard without overloading it while the dishes can accumulate in the washer until it is full.  I think it saves me time.

DR elmore my eBook library has a few books by Ellen Datlow & Terri Windling.  I just downloaded BLACK SWAN WHITE RAVEN.  Is this part of the series you introduced me to a few years ago?  I can't remember which one/ones I read.

Is the IRS spending thing off-limits?

i just liked this headline

$4 million conference taught IRS employees how to be ‘direct,’ ‘honest,’ ‘open,’ ‘transparent’

http://dailycaller.com/2013/06/06/4-million-conference-taught-irs-employees-how-to-be-direct-honest-open-transparent/#ixzz2VRbwhltN

I don't think the IRS employees are Democrats or Republican.  Just government drones.

Good morning, all!  Oy! It was a really bad sleepless night between 10:30pm, when I went  to bed, and 2:30am, when I last checked the clock. I could not settle in, and around 1:30, when i was finally settling, the damned ghost decided to play with my printer.  There is nothing more unsettling than sleeping machinery revving up without personal interference.

Elmore, does your printer actually print pages when you are not touching, or does it just gear up and then shut down again?   I know that my printer automatically goes thru its low-level cleaning cycle every so many days or hours. Sometimes it will start it when I am sitting there, but other times it will do when I am away from the computer or even at night when I am in bed.

I love having a dishwasher!

I still have to wash containers and pots and pans by hand. That is enough!

DR DRUXY - I am not sure it's mentioned in your play, but Carole and Clark visited a rather famous medium here in Indianapolis - I am not sure if this was before or after they married - and I think she was cautioned against flying, although this was before the War.

And of interest to other readers, I am sure you have seen them....here are some of the last photos taken of Carole during her visit to Indiana, and an interview with the photographer who was with her....during the hours when your play takes place.  They are lovely photos.

http://photographyinterviews.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Of course the article is incorrect in referring to her as an "Academy Award" winning actress....and I am not sure why the photographer would send the photos to Clark Gable at Columbia Pictures.....  :o

So very sad.  I used to have a movie poster of TO BE OR NOT TO BE printed after her death.  It advertised it as Miss Lombard's final film.

I do also remember THE STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO. I can recall one episode where a girl, possibly hitch-hiking, was standing along the side of a road and someone kills her in a most gruesome fashion. I am thinking they set her on fire. I never watched the show again after that.

I think you might want to try a few more episodes.  I think you would really enjoy it.  It was a very well done series.

You know what else I'd like to see?  Photo(s) of DR Ginny and DR Elmore together in Ohio back in the day.  I mean, of course, WAY back in the day.    :)

I believe, at that time, it was called the Louisiana Purchase.

....starring Gale Storm.

You mean...  that's not Judy Garland?    :D

Isn't it strange to think that Judy was only 47 when she died.

WIZARD OF OZ in 3D on September 20th for one week only!!

I doubt I can handle the flying monkeys in 3D

I wanted a flying monkey for a pet when I was a kid. I loved them.

One more bowtie shot. This one is of the family about 20 years ago. My hair has decided to take flight and no one seems to want to be in the photo.

I want to know how many hours of film it took to get that clip.  Nicky would prefer to watch me run the course.

Nice review.....and a nice photo of Mr Coward...or I guess I should say Sir Noel.

I then moseyed over to the BWW page that lists grosses.....the ticket prices are through the roof....I don't understand a top ticket price of $298 for Bette Midler's show....and $440 top ticket for Book of Mormon....  I guess a lot of people are getting tickets on business expense accounts.

I may have mentioned this before, but tough!  There is a production from Cirque du Soleil that is being done in a park in Seattle.  The production is done in a large tent.  I thought it might be fun to go and see it, since I have never seen any Cirque du Soleil production in person.  The top ticket price for a show in a tent in a park in Seattle is $450.00.  This is not thru an agency.  This is thru their box office.

Well, of course that was 40 years ago when I saw that episode. I could probably handle it better now. LOL!

Tonight I went to the quilt auction for the local humane society.  I came home with three quilts and a porcelain cat!  I spent what in my mind $$ goes to help the animals.  Our society has a 91.7% adoption rate.  Pretty amazing
