Barbara, take off your pantyhose.

There. I've said it. And I feel better.

I wonder how Barbara feels.

DR Cillaliz, re: Weight Watchers.

Have you heard of the yonanas machine?  It takes frozen fruit and when you put it thru the machine it comes out like soft serve ice cream (if you freeze it the texture is like regular ice cream). You can put peanut butter or chocolate chips thru the machine too. But if you just use fruit it is supposedly zero points.

I would highly recommend this machine. I use it every week and have not eaten ice cream since. I know you can get it on amazon.com. And Bed Bath and Beyond and probably other places in the US. So good.

Yesterday was a rainy day. Today and tomorrow it is supposed to rain all day. :(

Makes it hard to bike. I go everyday when it's not raining. I don't mind when it rains one or two days during the week. I think it is good for me to get the break. But I am sick of all this rain already!

I love FATHER GOOSE.

Trevor Howard has the best line in the movie.  When he hears that Grant and Caron want to marry, his reaction (as I recall): "Goody-Two=Shoes and the Filthy Beast!?!"

Amazing! The complete works of J.S. Bach (154 CDs worth of material) on a tiny 32GB UBS flash drive. For under $200.

We watched BEHIND THE CANDELABRA last night.  (Thank you, George.)

I thought it was interesting and quite watchable.  Michael Douglas was certainly believable as Liberace.  And, I loved Debbie Reynolds as his mother,

This morning, I couldn't help thinking how far movies and television have come since the 1960s-70s.

Back then, you could not get actors like Michael Douglas, Matt Damon or Scott Bacula to come anywhere near a project like this.

I had a publicity client, director Allen Reisner, who was set to do an episode of Marcus Welby, M.D., in which the guest star's character was "in the closet."  I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think words like "gay" or "homosexual" were even used in the script.  The character's sexual preference was just implied.

Reisner had a terrible time trying to cast that part, which was actually a pretty good one.  No actor with any name value would even consider it.  Finally, they cast Mark Miller, who had played Pat Crowley's husband on the Please Don't Eat the Daisies series.

It's been over 40 years since I've seen it, but I recall the finished episode as being rather bland and unsensational...probably because of network censorship.

Times have certainly changed...thankfully.

I remember that MARCUS WELBY MD episode.....and I remember Mark Miller, and unfortunately, I remember Pat Crowley's PLEASE DON'T EAT THE DAISIES.....on at least one episode, she called one of the child actors by his real name instead of his character name.....

I forgot to log out yesterday when I left to sell tickets for the opening night of YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN.  We had a nice audience of 174 in the 198 seats, so everyone was comfortable.  We did a booming business on the telephone and at the window for subsequent performances, tonight is nearly a sellout....so the $$$$$ keeps rolling in.

It is a sweet show....and the leads are all doing a very nice job.  All the little kids, for all their annoyances, were really excited and as they waited in the lobby to make their first entrance, I went by and gave them all a HIGH FIVE.....so we are OFF and RUNNING for season 52 of PUTNAM COUNTY PLAYHOUSE.

I loved her in RED GARTERS and a Paramount movie with Ginger Rogers called FOREVER FEMALE.....the tv series of DAISIES just went so far afield from the movie....and she was NO Doris Day....for sure.

Good morning....

Need some vibes for the coat show.  The show is fine, but we may be losing a cast member today, however.  It's all very vague and evidently rather serious (with the law involved).  Don't know who it is, which is frustrating, but they can't tell us.  I'll find out this morning just how much it will effect the show (we opened last night).

Oh the joys of middle school....

DR Jrand62 - I am curious which version of CHARLIE BROWN is being licensed nowadays. Is it the old, "traditional" version of the show, or are some of the additions of recent years (such as "My Philosophy") now included?

RED GARTERS was way ahead of its time.  I liked it, particularly the score.

Rosemary Clooney was (briefly) a publicity client...years later.

Has any DR seen "Oz the Great & Powerful," the recent-ish James Franco flick?  Is it really horrid?

But versions of "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" are available to license - the original and the revival.
