Thanks, DR Matthew!  Perhaps DR Jrand62 will let us know which version they're performing.

No one brought doughtnuts into the office today. That's both good and bad.

I know I speak sacrilege to some but I was never taken with Krispy Kreme. I encountered many of them when I toured the South and they had outlets in NYC for a while (the franchises were not as successful as they hoped) so I've tried them but I don't find anything special about them.

I am shocked, shocked, to report that I mostly enjoyed seeing GATSBY.

Baz's main sin in this one isn't music or visual extravagance, but some unrelenting fast cutting when you'd really like to have another damned second or two to take in the scene.  Surprisingly, though, there are a few places where he does restrain himself.

The 3D is all depth, with none of the in-your-face stuff.

He tells the story, but I'll have to re-read the novel in order to know whereof I speak, as it's been about 15 years since the last time I did so.  Got me back into it, though, and made me want to see the other filmed versions to reacquaint myself with what's what.

It's Friday in Oakland CA.

What day is it where you are?

Today also marks the "final day" of the 2 1/2-week coverage of another desk.  I call it my "time in hell" as I am actually covering two "other" desks in addition to my own.

The week has been tiring and I'm frankly unfit to be here today as I'll be sluggish and pokey  most of the day.

It's also PAYDAY.  HOO (ahem) RAY!

DR MATTHEW is correct - both versions are available, and you can specify which one you wish.  We are doing the 1999 revised version that replaces Peppermint Patty with Sally and adds the new songs......

Friday morning greetings!  Today we celebrate the 25th anniversary of our move into our home.  Of course, there was no snow that day, nor today.

Wow, DR Ginny. 25 years. That's enough time to accumulate a significant amount of stuff.    :)

Nah, it's not sacrilege.  Just different strokes...

When I first discovered Krispy  Kremes it was a match made in heaven.  Loved 'em beyond anything, especially when I could buy a dozen right off the production line.   Those things would melt in my mouth and were beyond anything I'd ever tasted.

Today, I enjoy an "occasional" Krispy Kreme.  I relish the certain je ne sais quoi-ness about them...but one certainly makes an impact on my digestive system these days.

Don't be too hasty, Jack.  Everyone isn't jumping off the cliff...not yet.

It's kind of fun watching the ones who are in freefall.

LOL, DR MBarnum!  There are things in our basement still wrapped in 1988 newspaper!
