Love the Earthquake billboard in that last photo, ChasSmith.

Thank you, DR John G.  Yesterday's pic shows the billboard even better.  I miss those things.

Thanks for the nice comments, both about our house anniversary and my new avatar.  This is a professional portrait taken when I was in 3rd grade, shortly after I started wearing glasses.

Third grade was about when I started wearing them, too.  I'd been terribly nearsighted all along, but I didn't know I wasn't seeing any worse than anyone else, and no one else figured it out, either, till one day when I asked my grandmother, who took buses all over Columbus, how she always seemed to know which bus to get on.

My appendectomy was also during third grade.  In fact, it was shortly after that that I announced I didn't want to be Chuckie any longer, and would everyone please call me Charles.  What a year!

Act One fixes are checked; he got most of them, and I sent him the ones he missed on my list.

I can go home now and work on Act Two.

Thanks, DR JRand!  The windows on the front of the house are the living room (with the flag, now gone) and the master bedroom.  Those are 12-foot windows and we have another one on the back (breakfast room) and a 10-foot in the family room, also on the back.

I didn't start wearing glasses until I was about 14 years old.

I wore contacts for a while when I was acting but people said since I was a character man I should probably keep the glasses. I also got tired of the maintenance so I stopped wearing contacts many, many years ago. I wore as gas permeable contact lenses instead of the soft lenses because at the time I had astigmatism and soft lenses didn't work well and were outrageously expensive. I'm glad now I don't wear lenses anymore.

I've always taken off my glasses on stage, which probably explains why I dove into the first row of seats during the Charlie Brown dress rehearsal...

Most of the ones in the Northeast and Midwest closed because they blew their wad expanding way too fast and they couldn't sustain it.  Now, in most areas, you have to buy the ones in stores.  If you're lucky, a roadside gas station/convenience shop, such as the one on the Hutchinson River Parkway, will have some fresh ones in the serve-yourself case that were just baked and delivered.
