I am sorry that elmore doesn't care for Ms. Clark, and if I met her personally I might dislike her too.  However, she charmed and delighted me when I saw her in TITANIC, and I thought she was a delight tonight.

Yes, it looked like both transformations malfunctioned and Laura almost lost her footing getting onto the coach.  And the director of the broadcast should be put out to pasture for having cameras onstage circling the actors - tired, cliched, and completely inappropriate - someone explain to the fool what a proscenium is.

Saw most of the show at friends' house. Didn't like the bad sound.  Really liked the awards for Tracy Letts, Cyndi Lauper, and Kinky Boots. Hated, loathed, despised the Matilda scenes. And that's my two cents.

I have been a fan of Victoria Clark since I saw her in the concert version of Sweeney Todd, and I know Jed very much enjoyed her when she did Piazza in Seattle.

They didn't show Diane Paulus when they were announcing the nominations.  At first, I thought that she wasn't there, at all.

All of the men directors are sitting with their teenage sons.....I think.

I misread that as twink sons.

Maybe they're just seat-fillers...that must be it.

I won't be able to catch up with all of the posts until tomorrow. But a few final thoughts: Pippin looked horrible, thanks to the way it was presented. Matilda sucked. Kinky Boots looked like it had possibilities. Cinderella lacked; badly. Motown could be entertaining, if they dropped the book. A Christmas Story could be fun. Bring It On was good for a bathroom break. All of it made me more interested in Hands on a Hard Body.

I loved the intro to the Tonys. I especially love Neil Patrick Harris. He is so fun to watch.

I think the Annie number was one of the best for trying to get people to go. Showing Jane Lynch (who many viewers will know from GLEE) was a good choice IMO.

Motown - what is different from watching an Elvis tribute or a Beatles tribute?  And the most appalling thing about every one of these musical sequences is the horrid choreography.  It's like choreographers have done nothing but watch So You Think You Can Dance - once upon a time choreography was creative - it wasn't about flips and meaningless turns and steps - it was in service of the story being told.  Jerome Robbins, Gower Champion, Bob Fosse, Michael Bennett, Tommy Tune - the choreographers today don't even have the right to call themselves choreographers - it's like we've regressed to the bloody June Taylor dancers.

I'm not sure what the performers get paid.  I do know the producers of each show pay for their own numbers that are performed - it doesn't cost the Tony people a damn thing.  I do not think that was always the case.

I think that's crazy. Also when Broadway shows perform on other shows (Letterman, The View...) the producers have to pay the performers.

It is a shame that all those Spiderman boys have to cover their faces with masks.

Is Spiderman still playing on broadway? I haven't heard anything about it in a long time.

I really enjoyed NPH's number with Laura Benanti and Megan Hilty. Funny.

And as always I really liked the closing number with Neil and Audra. Wish they weren't so rushed.

Btw, THE SHOW WENT OVER BY ALMOST 10 minutes on the East Coast (for anyone recording it).

Annie proves once again that choreography has just hit its nadir - where Peter Genarro's was perfection, this was just posing and pointless and I loathed the new orchestrations.  Jane Lynch tried hard, sang loud and was completely unfunny, unlike Miss Loudon, Jane Connell, Ruth Kobart and any number of other hilarious Miss Hannigan's.  And the New Yawk accents?

I disagree, I think Jane Lynch did well.  However, I completely agree with the "New Yawk" accent issue...totally unnecessary and distracting.

I saw Dorothy Loudon three or four times as Miss Hannigan, and once in SWEENEY Todd.  She was wonderful and there will never be another like her.

Still, I thought Jane was terrific.
