Topic of the Day:

LP not on CD:
The London cast recording of "1776" and the soundtrack to "At Long Last Love."  At least, "ALLL" is finally being released on Blu-ray. :D

Tom, New Yorkers knew about the Rascals show, they just didn't care.

One of the truly dreadful moments of last night's broadcast.

I have no problem with calling all theatrical performers actors. As TCB pointed out they aren't paintresses, or sculptresses or directresses or or any other gender indicating pronoun. It's not terribly important in the grand scheme of artistic expression. If you want to call them actors and actresses, fine by me. I will do what I want to do.

I had no problem with cast members in costume introducing the musical nominees. I thought it was different.

I also miss having the show in a Broadway theater. I put the blame on Rosie O'Donnell for that one. In the pass they would for example if the show was being broadcast from the Majestic they would do a tribute to musicals that played the Majestic.

I also remember when they played tribute to Sondheim, Herman & Kander/Ebb in the same year. Another year there was Coleman, Styne & Webber. They just don't do that anymore.

Or having real stars like Robert Preston, Mary Martin, Julie Andrews hosting or performing on the show

Star is on DVD, isn't it? Perhaps DR Mike meant he'd like to have it on Blu-Ray.

Yes, Star is on DVD. It may not be easily available anymore but it is on DVD. It was released in 2004.

Good morning, all! I am trying to get back to my old sleeping schedule. And I forced myself to get out of bed at 7:30. I was having a weird dream that I was waiting in the lobby of the New York State Theatre for Bruce Pomahac while he was supervising the dressing rooms for CINDERELLA.

I have some laundry in the washers, and at 10, I will head to East 22nd Street to my eye appointment. I need to make an appointment as well for an exam for new glasses.

Today is the birthday of Anthony Morelli, spouse of our DR Ben.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Birthday to Baxter !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoying some relaxation in the La-Z-Boy before moving upstairs to the computer where I can properly post all the things I want to post concerning the Tonys, Sardonicus, the TOD, and lord knows what else.

Nothing to report on the raccoon front.  It was quiet last night.  If there was any noise I slept through it, but I really didn't hear anything.  I looked at the 4 traps I can see from the house and nothing there either.  There is one more I can't see and as much as I pay the trapper I'm going to let him come and check.

The picture from MR SARDONICUS creeps me out....but not as much as Oscar Homolka did in the movie.
