Hmmm, I think squished is better.  Bruce I'll let you pick.

It does have a slimming effect.

Well, I'm off to my parents' house to help my dad put up a (hopefully, small) gazebo in their back yard...I hope it'll at least be easy to put up.  There will only be two of us doing it.

Until later!

Why my mother saved this, I'll never know.

Looks sort of like Joshie

I was using a long pole and trying to push the board up where the raccoon got in.  I really thought it was gone but all of a sudden it made a noise when I moved the board.   Hopefully we'll get it in one of he 6 live traps in my yard.

I just connected with someone on Facebook, originally from Wannetka, IL, who just told me that 30 years ago, when I worked at Theatre Books, "You gave me a great long-distance musical-theatre education."

I was quite moved by that.
That is very sweet. It's also true for a lot more of us, too.

And it's just amazing to me that every human being seems to think that Mr. Harris learns the finale rap by heart - they're amazed by it.  They think it's written just two minutes before it's done.  While I'm sure a line or two is written just before it's done, I am equally sure the rest of it is written as the show goes along, on a computer, backstage, and when it's done it is fed directly into the teleprompter.

I am devastated and disillusioned -  I thought the brilliant NPH made it up as he was going along because he's just THAT awesome!  Writers and teleprompters?!  Auugh next thing you'll be telling me the actors  practice those dances and the words they're going to say before the show

TOD:

I can't really think of any movies that I want that aren't on DVD.  There was a production of Shakespeare's MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING with Maggie Smith, Robert Stephens, Derek Jacobi, and Frank Finlay that I saw around 1970 on PBS that I absolutely loved. It was a National Theatre Production directed by Franco Zeferrelli.  The BBC found a tape of it about two years ago.  I keep hoping that they will release it on DVD.

A friend transferred all my vinyl to CD a few years back so every record I ever owned is on CD.

Some of these movies, if you can't find them on DVD; try youtube.  I saw PONY SOLDIER there a while back.  Also thanks to BK, I am a firm believer in the region-free DVD player.  They're very inexpensive...seen them as low as forty dollars...and it allows you to order DVDs from anywhere.

Charles, that Much Ado About Nothing  sounds  like soemthing I would love...

I've really got to quit stressing about this. As long as she doesn't get into the living space, a fear I had but am quickly getting over,  it's just a matter of waiting her out. My neighbors said I have a fawn living in my back yard (I saw lots of evidence of that tonight) and I have the cutest rabbits in the front yard.  They sprayed to kill weeds today, so no wildlife playing here, but that's for the best.

DR Cilla I find it understandable you are stressing out over the raccoon entering your house.

Watching a Margaret Rutherford as Miss Marple in "Murder She Said." She's a hoot. I haven't seen one of these Marple movies in ages.

I'm actually quite delighted to hear that BK was given the willies by SARDONICUS back in the day.  I vividly remember my first time seeing it because of those very willies.

The only thing I liked about that horrible movie was Oscar Homolka's final line when he returns to the house.
