Thanks, DR Jane!  Do you know the "sequel"?

Yes, I wrote The Purple Cow,
I'm sorry now I wrote it.
But I can tell you anyhow,
I'll kill you if you quote it!

Speaking of parodies (and cows) I once wrote a parody called "Has Anybody Seen My Cow" - to the tune of "Has Anybody Seen My Gal"   I should see if I can find it

The DD accompanied me to the last day of school today.  It was great, although, he's shy. School is over for the year and what a year it was.  We said goodbye to our principal team (several times in fact) and I ended up writing 5 parodies of songs for different occasions.  It was a creative last couple of weeks.

How very nice you took DD to work.  I'm glad your last day was a good one.  What will you do for the summer?

Tomorrow, I leave for a week at Walt Disney World.  When I come back, I'm home for a week, and then I leave for So Cal to head to Disneyland and then on a Carnival Cruise to celebrate a wedding.   The rest of the summer I'm working.

10-year-old San Antonio kid who sang the national anthem before the Spurs game the other night has become the center of some madness that just makes me sad:

http://www.addictinginfo.org/2013/06/13/twitter-explodes-in-a-disgusting-show-of-racism-aimed-at-a-ten-year-old-kid-who-sang-the-national-anthem-video/

And here's his video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u92yUQfD9HQ

WOW, he is terrific, far better than most renditions sung at sporting events.

The reaction is so very sad.  I'm curious though if the outfit he wore contributed to the stupid comments?  Is it a Texas tradition to dress this way?
The mariachi tradition is strong here, which, I guess, is unknown outside the area. Plus, he was referred to by Spanish stage name, which contributed to some of the ignorance. He's being great about it all, and the Spurs have invited him back to sing again at the next home game. That's practically unheard of here, because so many want to do sing the anthem.

The Book! Who doesn't love Hermione Gingold as Eulalie Mackechnie Shinn?

I am positive I've misspelled Mackechnie!

MacKecknie for Eulalie Shinn.

McKechnie for Donna.

N E W S   F L A S H   ! ! !

The IMDb has it wrong!     :o

That reminds me of this:

My best friends daughter and her boyfriend will stay with the DD.  It gets them away from the their house for a while and on this side of the bay (no bridge) where they both work.  They are responsible and great kids :)

If Jason's show is to be taped, he should have plenty of oboe outtakes.

Okay, here's something to perk up our Mikey this afternoon. I would guess they're either dead or old enough for DR MBarnum to chase them around the nursing home.

Today, I watched The Dinner Game.  It was in French with English Subtitles.

I did take 3 years of French in High School.  Could only understand some of it.

What a funny and clever Movie!!

DR BK,

Yes I have tried the Skinny Cow sandwiches.  They are very good.

I recommend Ghirardelli 72% caco (Dark Chocolate)  They are excellent and also good for you.

Did anyone here ever play MYST?  I bought it right after I bought my first computer.  My God, the hours of sleep I lost with that game.  I would be working on one of the puzzles, and next thing I know, it is three o'clock in the morning.  I hadn't thought about it in years.

I never played MYST, but a friend of mine was obsessed with it!  I played Super Mario World...that was my game.  I still have it and it's hooked up to my big screen TV. :D
