So what is everyone doing for Father's Day?

NOT accompanying Fr. Richard to Lima, because I learned yesterday that our niece Rev. Amy is one of the guest preachers at our former church's Heritage Sunday.  I will be attending that service and the festive lunch afterwards.

The Vixter and I went in separate cars  and we set off to head home -- I arrived home and the phone rang -  the Vixters car wouldn't start - we think its the fuel pump....OY!

We were invited to a free dinner at The Texas Roadhouse tonight - we were given menu cards giving us  the entree we were allowed to have - the Vixter had pulled pork and I had  a 6 oz sirloin smothered in onions and mushrooms... we were allowed to pick our own sides, Vixter had a salad and baked potato and I had the green beans and loaded sweet potato

non alcoholic drinks were free as well... we also had a baskets of their delicious bread (made fresh every five minutes apparently!) which is served with honey cinnamon butter

they also had servers  offering samples of the appetizers, I had some ribs, their version of the bloomin onion , I think they call it a catus flower, loaded cheese fries, and a hot boneless wing

I think I am going to get enourmously fat with the Vixter working there    and I think I will enjoy every second of it

Sorry about the car troubles, DR Vixmom. With your basement this past week, that's ALL you need.    :P

The birthday gal did not fall asleep. I consider this a success.     :)

It turned out that many of the songs I picked had a personal connection for her, so she got very teary and it was all very sweet.

And my "Rose's Turn" killed.     ;D

DR elmore3003 - if you ran out of tape before you ran out of paper, what were you using in the interval??  (Inquiring minds...)

Yes, I'm looking forward to it, DR Singdaw.  This is the Methodist church where Richard grew up, we were married (as we're his parents), and where Rob grew up.  There's a lot I miss about attending there.  It will be a nice family day.  I hope the Lima folks forgive me for missing the 90th birthday of one of our parishioners.  My staying in Middletown was actually Fr. Richard's idea...
