We were invited to a free dinner at The Texas Roadhouse tonight - we were given menu cards giving us  the entree we were allowed to have - the Vixter had pulled pork and I had  a 6 oz sirloin smothered in onions and mushrooms... we were allowed to pick our own sides, Vixter had a salad and baked potato and I had the green beans and loaded sweet potato

non alcoholic drinks were free as well... we also had a baskets of their delicious bread (made fresh every five minutes apparently!) which is served with honey cinnamon butter

they also had servers  offering samples of the appetizers, I had some ribs, their version of the bloomin onion , I think they call it a catus flower, loaded cheese fries, and a hot boneless wing

I think I am going to get enourmously fat with the Vixter working there    and I think I will enjoy every second of it

They're not bad. I find the drinks a little overpriced and I don't care for the sweet bread or sweet butter, but I think the pork chop is wonderful. So, try that on a future visit.

I have a sweet tooth and I don't  generally drink when I go out  but I will have to see about the pork chop although right now I have my eye on the bone in rib eye

Last night, I made the mistake of going into a Half-Price Books and finding 16 volumes of Balzac I didn't have. No lunches this week. And no room in the house for 16 new hardbacks.

as the kids say, been there  did that......  I feel your joy and pain :)

Notes are written and I'm about to schedule them and pray it works.  I won't know, of course, until I'm up in the morning.

I am very confused about some of the things that were said today.  Why would a dear reader have to send your notes to some reviewer?  I thought anybody could read your notes as well as out posts?

Also, I can't figure out why anyone would want to track the books they read?  Books are supposed to be one of the joys of our world.  All of this tracking and reviewing and scoring, and whatever else just seems strange to me. I have no problem if others want to do it, but I will pass, thank you.

Still, it seems that there was a lot of anger and disagreement in the living room today.  And THAT stresses me out.

I spent most of my day hovering over my cell phone, waiting for my sister to call me.  She and my brother-in-law are leaving very early tomorrow morning for Mexico.  BK, please wave as your plane and my sister's plane cross (from a safe distance) over California.  It is very weird to worry about not hearing from her, but since our mom was killed, neither one of us ever leaves town without talking on the phone together.  I know it is silly, but it makes me feel strange.
