Forgot to mention it, but I like the new avatar, DR Doug R. And glad Prague was a savory trip. I remember loving the food there, too.

Sorry to hear about your friend, Elmore.

Laura sent me this photo from 1982, when her parents first took her to NYC. This is my memory of hpw John looked when I knew him:

And now I am off.  There is another session of Auditions tomorrow night, so we won't know anything until then.  But I have an ANGEL STREET rehearsal, so I have to go today.

DR JohnG, here's another bit of Middletown, OH trivia: John's wife at the time was the lady who contacted The Middletown Journal abut the Sondheim Pulitzer Prize story that led to your calling me for an interview.

It was a pleasant quite flight until the buffoon next to me fell asleep - he's sitting there like so much fish, snoring loudly because his head is tilted back and his mouth is open so wide I could put my Diet Coke glass in it.

Father's Day afternoon greetings!  I am home from a lovely Heritage Sunday service at Middletown's First United Methodist Church.  Our niece, Rev. Amy, did a wonderful job with her part of the sermon.  Best part=holding great-niece Rachel from late in the sermon and through the last hymn.  Lunch in Fellowship Hall was fun - got to visit with lots of long-time friends.

Oh, dear, DR Elmore, I had not heard about John Parker's death.  I had noticed Laura's scarcity on Facebook and now know the reason.

DR JohnG, here's another bit of Middletown, OH trivia: John's wife at the time was the lady who contacted The Middletown Journal abut the Sondheim Pulitzer Prize story that led to your calling me for an interview.

Further Middletown trivia:  we just celebrated 25 years of ownership of the house in which John and his first wife raised Laura.

Raccoon Update!! Thanks to the assistance of a very brave and animal loving friend, we looked into the attic. It doesn't look like anything has been in there. Whew! This means the raccoon is only in the walls and under the roof of the turret over my front door. That's the good news.

We took the plumbing access panel into the bathroom wall off (the bathroom is in the upstairs of the turret) and looked in - couldn't see much, but didn't see any damage or signs of raccoon. This means the raccoon is likely in the roof of the turret or the walls around the bathroom where we couldn't see from the access panel. That is totally consistent with the hole that the raccoon made in the outside of the house.

Still haven't heard any noises that sound like babies, but now I know where to listen and if we need to get babies out, we'll have to cut a hole in the wall....or maybe a cupboard in the bathroom. Hoping that isn't necessary. All in all I am very glad we checked on these things today
