Two demands that never fail to make me want to throw things at the TV:  granite countertops and "open" floor plans.

Hi, TCB!  No, I decided not to go to Israel.  It would have been crazy---not that I haven't already done crazy things!
Crazy for sure-lol

Does Barbra greet you by name at the start of every concert?

Not quite, TCB, though she did kind of talk to me and my friends at the concert since we were upgraded to front row center!  She did say say my friend Robin's name since she had met her last week.

:)  Was the upgrade due to knowing you are a regular?

Last night I watched To Kill A Mockingbird.

I have watched it several times.  What a great movie.  Everytime I watch it i get more out of it.

Right now it is my favorite movie of all time.
Great one.

Hallmark had a "Murder, She Wrote" marathon over the weekend.  The first two seasons were aired in episode order.

What stunned me was the series opener -- a two-parter entitled "The Murder of Sherlock Holmes' (IIRC).  That wonderfully jaunty theme for the show was written by Oscar-winner (for "Tom Jones") John Addison.  I hadn't realized that Addison scored the entire two-parter and won an Emmy for it.

It's delightful, and it's easy to hear the difference between his use of the theme throughout the two-part opener and the subsequent referential use of the theme by other composers in subsequent episodes.

It's a score, that opener, that ought to be on CD!

When I ran up the aisle there were stares and embarrassed coughs  and shocked look and then i started  piling stuff in top of Pastor's  op[en prayer book  and stuck a baseball cap on his head and people starting catching on and laughing  and boy did everyone pay attention..

:)

We didn't let anyone know what we were doing except the associate Pastor and the Vixter  (who I warned because I knew she would die of mortification if not pre-warned)

I love it, especially the need to warn the Vixter so she wouldn't die of mortification.

Learned this morning that my aunt and uncle from Tennessee are being placed in a home in North Carolina, near their daughter. It seems likely that Aunt Bettye will never be able to walk again (don't really know the problem, but she has lived 75 years or so with juvenile diabetes), while Uncle Jimmy (my dad's brother) is exhibiting signs of early dementia. Sad.

Sorry. :(

LOL.  On "Love It or List It", David always seems to think he's scored a winner when he shows  a house with "a powder room" on the main floor.  He always says "a powder room" with hushed tones....almost like he's enthusing over having "baby-backed ribs" for dinner.

I'm not sure if I'll be back until after our company leaves.  I'll try to stop in before they arrive, if I have done all I need to do first.

I have to say that during the readings from the script of The Drowsy Chaperone yesterday, there were many BIG laughs....  That is a funny script!!!  Not sure everyone got it exactly, but the director gets it, so should be able to get all the humor onto the stage.

Listening to Judy Kuhn's new album. Fun stuff on it, but a heartbreaking version of "In Buddy's Eyes." She's fragile enough to make a great Sally in "Follies." Too bad nobody has any idea who she is.

Thanks for the diplomacy, TCB. I was thinking about how to phrase my envy. Nothing beats your phrase. :)

Ron, but as I mentioned in my post about LOVE IT OR LISTED also being my most hated show.  Hillary, if she is doing her job properly could usually discover and uncover most of those unexpected problems before she started with a reasonable inspection.  The couples budget is unrealistic but also what she promises she can do without serious investigation is also unrealistic.  No designer would do what she does.  But then that's why it's not really a reality show.  All those crises, all the home-owner snit fits, all the undiscovered calamities are all false and manufactured.  It's worse than formulaic dramas.  But you expertly described everything that his utter bullshit about the show and why I stopped watching.  You can almost set your watch when the various upsets and disagreements will happen.  I don't know why any designer would want to be on that show...It makes them look like the most incompetent designer ever.  "I didn't do my simple homework before I started and gave you an estimate."

It's like House Hunters where a couple is decides on getting a new home after just looking at three houses.  Who are we kidding.  If I don't find what I want...I keep looking.

I'm only about 33% of the way through the Doug Haverty interview. It's quite interesting.

I copied the interview, pasted it into a Word document, formatted it so that it would look good on my Kindle, then saved it as a .pdf and added it to my Kindle.  It'll be what I read when I go to lunch today!

FYI...with the way I formatted it, it's 60 pages long!

The Indianapolis Theatre Community is all agog.

Yesterday some of the cast of ZANNA DON'T at Theatre on the Square in Indy decided there weren't enough people in the audience, so they left and the performance was canceled.

I like a show called TRADING SPACES for a long time.....but then a couple of their designers including Hildy Santo-Tomas and some other Southern woman whose name I can't remember - maybe Genevieve -  kept doing such awful things to people's homes, I had to stop watching.

Toward the end of my viewership, some homeowners were aghast to find out that their property had been handed over to Hildy....
