I can't remember what one needed to play those, besides obviously one of those lovely humongous Sansui (or other) receivers, and the four speakers. But if you have a surround system now, how would it -- or could it -- decode those into something or other?

I actually have a Bang & Olafsun (sp?) turntable that can play quad records, but it doesn't work. I might have to get it fixed one of these years.

AND, if I remember correctly, I think I have an older receiver that can also support quad turntables.

Fascinating, but on the last flight to be online for the DURATION of the flight was ten bucks. Today it's fifteen bucks for ninety minutes. I think I'll be telephoning the company that does this with some questions.

So far the flight has been very pleasant - a quiet lady next to me. I had a pastrami sandwich and one and a half potato pancakes for lunch and I just had the beef dinner - which looked to me like about three ounces of meat, maybe four tops, some string beans and that's it - it still feels like I ate way too much today.

Thanks to BK and The East Coast Singer for a very nice evening. I had a delicious Panini at Busboys and Poets, the restaurant the group went to before the show. And I enjoyed Follies very much. It was the first time seeing it live. I've seen the Raul Esparza version on DVD.

Hopefully, they'll all grab their little barf bags in time and vomit in them and not on the ground! That would be MOST unseemly!

TCB: regarding my seat for Barbra. It was sheer luck. In London, at the "Ask Barbra" table a woman approached my friends from Scotland (they met on the Barbra forum, and later at a concert in Dublin in 2007 and got married two years later). She told them she was upgrading fans and since I was with them, I got upgraded too. We were in the front row center. Then, two weeks later, in Berlin, my friend Robin (who had met Barbra a few days earlier) and I were in the upper section of the arena , looking for a merchandise stand, when our friend from Poland ran towards us and said she had been upgraded. We went to see the woman (not the same one from London) and she gave us tickets and waited while we got our friends from Scotland (who were on the lower level) . When we looked at the tickets we couldn't believe that we were in the front row again! I'm not usually lucky, but I guess those experiences made up for it!
