DR TCB tell Nicky I said thank you.

Good news  from DR CILLA LIZ.

The back porch roof AND siding are done.  He is coming back next week to paint, put the gutters back on, and reinstall the lights.

I tried to get through the Mamie Van Doren films last night.....and made it to about half an hour of SEX KITTENS GO TO COLLEGE....an Albert Zugsmith epic....that had a title tune by Conway Twitty titled "Sex Pots Go To College" - which means even Zugsmith had reservations about THAT title.

My favorite Van Doren film is COLLEGE CONFIDENTIAL......

Greetings from Toyland!

A/C on, everything set to go. I haven't unpacked the paper, so I hope the order was correct.

TOD

I think the only movie I got a chance to sit down and watch all week was HANG 'EM HIGH, which I'd never seen.

CD:   OBCs of ALLEGRO, ME AND JULIET, and PIPE DREAM.

TOD:

We're recording Mel Brooks' DRACULA IS DEAD AND LOVING IT today.

I've never seen it before, so we'll probably watch it tonight or tomorrow.

I remember Pete & Gladys.....if I am not mistaken, Verna Felton was also carted over from December Bride to take part in the festivities...  I wanted it to be funnier than it was....I just remember one episode:  the title characters had forgotten they were invited to an anniversary party for friends.  They didn't have enough cash in the house to buy a present, so they had to empty all of the piggy banks.  Cara carried all of the coins by making a pouch of her skirt....and they tried to cross the street and were endlessly stopped by the red light....dropping all of the coins JUST TOO MANY TIMES....  I don't think I watched again after being bored by this episode....

Friday morning greetings!  I was E & T last night because my book group met at Lynne's to discuss Anna Quindlen's LOTS OF CANDLES, PLENTY OF CAKE.  It was my last meeting as leader of the group, a 22-year run.  Sharon is taking over and will do a great job.

I, too, remember PETE & GLADYS.  Our next door neighbors in Detroit were Pete and Betty and my dad always called them Pete and Gladys.  Last spring, Mom and I visited Gladys Betty:

I love Anna Quindlen. I just got the book to read (it's on my Sony Reader). I'm looking forward to it.

I love Anna Quindlen, too, DR Ben, and was disappointed that some of my friends found her writing to be "nothing special."  Well, there's that little Pulitzer Prize...

DR Jrand62 - I may have missed it, but I don't think you have reported on the super-dooper new convenience. Is it...convenient?

DRs Ginny and Ben - I have really wanted to like Anna Quindlen. But starting one or two of her books, I just haven't been able to get into her groove. Is there one book in particular that you would recommend for a beginner?

OMG it is wonderful....uses much less water.....ONE FLUSH.....it is a super HUSH FLUSH that is quiet and quick....the seat that came with it is kind of thin plastic, so I may replace that, but yes it is great!!!

I have finally located a desk/secretary for ANGEL STREET.  It doesn't have the interior drawers I need, but I have a plan to work around that.  It was $299 and I can sell it at the end of the show.   :D

Overheard at office. Woman on phone:

"Why do you want to buy the world's largest chocolate bar?"

a moment later:

"I know, I'm the world's most horrible mother."

Turns out the chocolate bar was priced at a reasonable $89.95.

I'm up, I'm up.  Once again I thought it was around eleven only to find it was just after nine - eight hours, great sleep, but can't seem to just get that longer sleep I need.
