I enjoyed them! I especially loved that several of the CC Brown's brownies featured banana ice cream! I noticed that one item listed "Milk Chocolate Dressing" and two had "Marshmallow Dressing." What makes them a "dressing?" I've never heard "dressing" used in that context. Sounds delish, though!

The only things I ever ordered at C.C. Brown's were the hot fudge sundae and the butterscotch (not very often - maybe three times total) - it's listed on the back of the menu, which isn't pictured.

And continued from yesterday:

After ushering (and reconnecting with Gary), I came home and changed my shirt to go to an audition! Some friends are holding auditions for a special show to celebrate the 10th anniversary of a local restaurant, Pellegrino's. My friend Tim will be directing and my friend Chad is producing it. TCB, Christian Doyle wrote the script! It's a murder mystery, but not improvisational where the audience interacts and you have to make sure that you give out your three pieces of information...nothing like that. It's totally scripted and for the first time in a long time, I really enjoyed the audition! It's a fun script and there are several roles that I could actually do. They're also having another audition tonight and I'm going to go back. They asked if anyone could come back to please come back. There weren't enough people from yesterday to cast the show, but I'm sure that more people will show up tonight.

We had a wonderful dinner of pesto, whole wheat pasta, and sauteed vegetables last night. We just substituted nutritional yeast flakes for the cheese when making the pesto, and we were good to go. The flavor isn't quite as sharp as with the cheese, but honestly, you can hardly tell the difference!

Good morning, all! I needed to get some sleep and I went to bed early and slept very well last night. I had one peculiar dream: wandering about the some city on the New Jersey coast with an actor dressed in 18th century costume and working on something that might have been The Crucible. My cousin Judy was one of the costumers. I was unhappy with the fact that my breeches ended mid-calf instead of at my knees, and she was redoing them.

Back to Toyland today to finish up these orchestra parts. I have no other plans.

I spent the last 2 days unpacking the last of the boxes I moved in with 3 years ago. It was really hard to let go of things. I'm down to stuff with memories. But this is a tiny tiny place, so 2 trips to the local Arc Foundation thrift store I did make.

If I listed to 2 cd's a day, it would take over a year to listen to them all. Those I could not give up.

If I watched a movie a night, it would take over a year. The dvd's I could not give up.

Here's a photo of the Oriental House, which is up the street from where my parents live in Louisville, Ky. This was our catch-all place, special occasion and just when we wanted good food. Through the years various owners have had it, yet the food has always been dependably good and occasionally even excellent. I worked there for one day busing tables and would loved to have worked there, but I was only 14 and too young to be employed.
