So far my hiccups are staying away, what a relief.  I was smart to lie down before having them too long.  Over the years I have flopped down on sidewalks and other various locations. ;D

Just stopping by to say good evening to everyone. It's a busy week for me, with almost as much study prep as Kritzerland weeks. I'll share more about that when appropriate.

Hope everyone's been having a wonderful day.

LOL you made me choke on a piece of licorice.   It isn't the lying down that makes me look drunk, it is the bouncing sideways when walking.

Lying down in strange places makes people think something serious happened to me, which is why I didn't do it at the wedding.  Plus I need to put my knees up and that can't/shouldn't be done in public when wearing a skirt-lol

Bruce I said I noticed you had been added to the the Hamilton High Friends page.  I'm wondering if you requested this invite or if Jackie (a mutual FB friend of ours) simply added you.

Ah.  No, I did not request anything, so I must have just been added.

I'm watching Help with the Beatles.  Well, I'm watching Help - the Beatles aren't actually watching with me, but they're in it.  I suppose a rant will be coming in the notes due to the usual idiots having pronounced the transfer a DNR disaster based on ill-taken screen shots.  These people are beyond stupid and beyond reprehensible.  The transfer is fine.  They say based on the screen shots that every trace of grain has been wiped away - so it's amusing that the first thing you see when the film begins is grain in the optical - the entire film has grain, the opticals have more grain and these people seriously should, as my mother used to say, go play in traffic for all the harm they do.

Well, I finished my paper, all 21 pages of it. And my allergies are ready to kill me. So, I'm taking a Benedryl and will hopefully soon slip into the arms of Morpheus.

Good night, all.

Continued vibes for DR Sandra.

And congrats, Cillaliz, on the weight loss. Wish I were keeping pace with you. Think I actually put on a pound in the last week.

Re:why BK thought it was DR Sandra's birthday - a lot of people were wishing her well because of her wisdom teeth. So he probably saw the wishes and thought it was her bday.

Dug up a couple of postcards to share.  Herewith, the first cafeteria of my life -- Mills Restaurant, in downtown Columbus.  My grandmother (dad's mother), who lived very near downtown and got around on the city buses for most of her life, ate here a lot, and she would treat my sister and I to a lunch here on days she took us downtown for shopping or seeing a movie in one of the grand movie palaces.

EDIT:  Not our writing -- got this one on eBay.

We went on to be a cafeteria-frequenting family for as long as I lived at home.  I'd guess a few of them in Florida were a bit on the plain side, decor-wise, but some of the nice older downtown ones, such as Mills, often had murals and interesting architectural design, including mezzanine levels to eat on.  Loved these.

And now for something a little different:

When I was learning to fly at Van Nuys Airport, the main eating hangout was Skytrails Restaurant, on the NE corner of Sherman Way and Hayvenhurst, just west of the underpass beneath the runways.  I ate there countless times, alone and with all manner of people, everything from breakfasts and snacks at all hours, to full meals.  They had one or two rooms for casual eating, and the more colorful lounge and dining room for dinner, drinks, etc., pictured here.  I don't remember one damned thing about the food, but it was the kind of place pilots and families and friends loved like it was a second home.  There is now some bland office building or some such, one that looks like every other bland office building or some such, in its place, and Skytrails is no more.
