Bear, a New York City police dog who was injured while aiding in an arrest last week, was released from the vet yesterday — and greeted by a line of his four-footed colleagues!

I just watched the 2-hour season premiere of "Franklin & Bash."  I really like this show.  It's a fun buddy show.

I really like this show too. Although they haven't shown the premiere here yet. Hopefully soon. They usually like to pair it with Suits which I think starts in a few weeks.

Good morning, all.

Oy!  Allergy day today.  They've gone kind of easy on me so far this summer, but this was a sniffly sneezey eye-watery low energy one from the get-go.

I love POLTERGEIST and will never forget the thrills of first seeing it.  If memory serves, that was at Loews Paramount -- as I will always remember the El Capitan.

Never went to the sequels, have only seen them on cable once or twice, and long ago.  This will have to be rectified.

TOD --

Sadly, we were never much of a westerns family... the one exception in later years being BONANZA.  I regret this, and would very much enjoy making up for those lost years via DVD/BLU.

CHEYENNE was my favourite TV western growing up.  I also watched THE BIG VALLEY and BONANZA. What has been fun watching the Western channel these days is becoming familiar with ones I didn't watch growing up...things like PALADIN and GUNSMOKE, particularly the latter.  A very gritty, often dark western where bad things happened and good people often didn't win.  It's also interesting renewing acquaintances with other shows like WYATT EARP...and almost juvenile  western that doesn't really hold up...Wyatt Earp never shooting to kill and drinking milk...Puh-leeze!

BK, question?  Why do you even go to sites where amateurs review DVD releases and get into the arcane things like the transfer?  Who cares?  Just what the DVD and decide for yourself whether you like the transfer or not.  Why waste valuable time debating with anonymous morons and getting irritated by them?

TOD:

Hopalong Cassidy was my very favorite cowboy.
Wild Bill Hickock and Paladin were up there, too.
Loved, Loved, Loved Roy and Dale (before Dale channeled the living Anita Bryant in the 1980s).
"Happy Trails" remains one of my favorite songs.

Reading bk's notes, I've realized that I have never seen any of the Beatles movies.  I guess I should get on that.  Today is a packed day.  Funeral to play at 9:00am, heading over to the theatre to assist in Really Rosie which should be fun.  Tonight, I'm playing a rehearsal for Into the Woods and it's a run through of Act Two, which means I should probably see if "Your Fault" and "The Last Midnight" are in my fingers somewhere, because that could be a disaster.  They have been at one point, but who knows now.

TOD: My dad is the western fanatic. As a kid, though, I loved Bonanza and Gunsmoke as well as The Wild, Wild West and High Chaparral. In more recent years, I found Deadwood, especially the second season, to be some of the best TV I've ever seen.

:)  The soundtrack recording of the film version of A Little Night Music will finally be released (officially) for the first time on CD on Aug 13:
http://www.playbill.com/news/article/179554-A-Little-Night-Music-Film-Soundtrack-Will-Be-Released-on-Disc-for-First-Time

I had always heard that this would never happen because the sources had deteriorated too much. Happy news!

My fingers keep typing Sinday instead of Sunday.

For someone who works in a church, this is not a good thing.     :P

Aww, don't sweat it.  You're probably so used to typing "singdaw" that your "Sunday" suffers as a result.

A good place to start.

BTW: I earn no royalties off of this film.  I'm just very proud of it.

When I was doing publicity, I represented several folks who starred on classic TV Westerns:

Michael Ansara (Broken Arrow)
Henry Darrow (High Chaparral)
John Russell (Lawman)
Robert Horton (Wagon Train)

Also, Clayton Moore (The Lone Ranger) was a neighbor of mine.

Good morning, all,

I saw HELP in the theater and loved it, but haven't seen it since, I don't think. I should take another look one of these days.

TOD: As  scroll through the memory banks, I realize I watched a ton of westerns growing up, but there were lots on TV.
Some of my faves:
The Rifleman
The Lone Ranger
Bat Masterson
Maverick
Cheyenne
Gunsmoke.
and yes, Bonanza later on.

Looks like the people at Masterworks heard Larry's request

Masterworks will also release the 1972 U.K. musical, Cowardy Custard, the story of Noël Coward's life told through song and biographical snippets. It features such songs as "You Were There," "Mad About the Boy" and "Marvelous Party," sung by Tony Award winner Patricia Routledge. The double-CD album of the original Mermaid Theatre production will be released Sept. 10.
