Further on DR DL Iris' having been a singing hostess at "Great American" --

One song I always remembered our singing host doing that night was "Smoke, Smoke, Smoke that Cigarette!"

I'm up, and have been so since nine-fifteen.  I don't really know what I've been doing since nine-fifteen, but if I'm to jog I'd best do it right now.

I know but I'm pretty sure CHEYENNE was a tv hit when I received that photo.

DR Jane, I enjoyed seeing your autographs!

We should have an HHW day of everyone showing their collection of autographs...I know that several of us have some.

So DR Jane what did you have to do to get your books back on your new nook?

My books returned, well one did easily and the other I just needed to access my Barnes and Noble library and download it again.

With a bit of work I remembered how to download my Overdrive (public library) and get that working again.  I tested I could download a book to be sure it was ok.

I did find where to add the 2nd email address.  Basically all is fine again except for the annoying extra 5 books in my Barnes & Noble wish list that I have purchased.  They even show I have purchased them which is why I can't remove them.

The Nook works as smoothly as a Nook will work so I am very happy.

And speaking of NOOKS, it was my understanding that they are getting rid of/going to stop making their TABLETS but not their regular nook ereaders. And they are not going to stop selling ebooks.  So right now it probably shouldn't be a problem.

It's sort of confusing to me how amazon and kindles can be doing so well yet the numbers for B&N were so bad.

I agree with you since the Nook HD is rated as the best reader except for the new iPad.

It is a shame the tablets aren't doing well.

With my Nook working properly I no longer consider switching to the iPad mini.  I might though if the quality of the mini reader improves as the big problem with the Nook is the tablet part is just ok.

TOD:

I have a lot on the DVR from this week but likely won't get much of an opportunity to watch anything as I will be spending Saturday and Sunday volunteering at Salem's annual World Beat festival.

I will be at the tent for the India-US Friendship organization. The theme at our booth will be Bollywood! Some of my Hindi film posters will be on display and there will be a constant stream of Bollywood movies and or song picturizations running on the tv in the  booth!

I know who is going to have a good weekend :)

TOD:

Robinson Crusoe on Mars Blu Ray - only sale last week at Amazon.  I enjoyed listening to the commentary (carted over from the 1994 release).

I've been putting off upgrading the DVD to Blu-ray.  This, among other sins, shall finally be reckoned with during the upcoming B&N Criterion sale.

When is the sale? I want to get a copy of the German Threepenny Opera.

It usually starts somewhere around the second week of July and runs to about the end of the month.

One day I will also upgrade to Blu-Ray, but I am waiting to find an all region blu-ray player that is easy on the pocket-book.

As luck would have it, I look on the internet and see that all region Blu-Ray players are now quite inexpensive. Well, payday is just around the corner!

Do you not keep all your books on your nook?  I don't take mine off. Just move them to a read folder on my kindle.

But believe it or not Meredith Wilson's biggest money making song was "Til There Was You" thanks to a recording by The Beatles!

And we learn that their favorite American music group is called "Sophie Tucker"

I knew that they'd recorded it, but I'd never heard it before.  It enjoyed it. :)

On this day in 1902, Mr. Richard Rodgers was born!

I'm going to have to listen to "Moon in My Window" later. I think that's my favorite of his melodies.

That's one of my favorite songs from "Do I Hear a Waltz?"
