Thanks for sharing, DR Jane - I almost feel like I've walked into a Monet exhibit!

Today the hot water boiler in my apartment building was being worked on so there was only cold water for my shower. Although DR Elmore thinks I need one, I just couldn't do it. So I went over to the YMCA to shower.

When Craig was born the hospital was out of hot water.  I had two roommates, both with short hair, who couldn't understand why I refused to get in the shower with my long hair.  The morning I left a nurse finally walked me around to a "secret" shower with hot water where I had a nice shower and washed my hair.

Nice photos, Jane. What kind of fish do you have?

Found this elsewhere...it certainly sums up my weekend in Oakland...and the next couple of days, as well!

Gale Storm sings "Heat Wave"

Note the shot of Zasu Pitts ("Nugey") and James Fairfax ("Cedric"). This was from an episode of "The Gale Storm Show: Oh, Susannah".

That was fun-thanks.

And HERE is Patti LuPone singing...for those who care for her, like me.  ;)

I'm listening now and enjoying it.

No one's mentioned BAMBI yet, either, and I haven't seen it in years.  But I'll bet there are more such Disney flicks qualified for inclusion.

The opening of that is so very sad and upsetting.  Another Disney movie I wouldn't take my children to until they were older.

Omigod -- that reminds me of one I rented long ago, having no idea what was in store -- and I'll never watch it a second time.  It should have been at the top of my list.

A 1988 film called THE BEAR.  Proceed at your own risk.

I do succeed, for the most part, in keeping that one out of my mind.

Right now in Olympia, it's 83°.  Today at 3:05 pm had the highest temperature of the day at 87°.

Yesterday, the high got up to 91°F at 5:05 pm.  It was 88.7° up in my bedroom at 11:30 pm.  It certainly didn't cool down at all! :P

LUNCH IN A JAR:

LUNCH IN A JAR..... Make ahead lunches, totally portable!
Great for on the run or taking to work as well...And you can change up the ingredients for variety very easily.

The arrangement from BOTTOM to TOP:
Dressing
Shredded carrots
Cherry tomatoes
Sunflower seeds
Hard boiled eggs
Baby spinach

DIRECTIONS
1) Arrange ingredients in a large mason jar
2) Store in fridge for up to a week
3) When ready to eat: shake jar, place on a plate, and eat!

You can make any arrangement you want… you can add red onion, cucumbers, radishes or peppers. Always remember to put the dressing at the bottom and the lettuce at the top.

Oh, dear, I appear to have been sitting here like so much fish, when in fact I have:

-Thoroughly enjoyed the Bradbury program
-Taken a shuttle bus back to The Loop
-Attended a meeting at the Donor Forum of Chicago
-Shopped for gifts at Fannie Mae Chocolates
-Dropped all my stuff at the hotel and picked up Richard
-Gone to the Marquette Inn for dinner
-Walked back to the hotel
-Started packing for our train trip back to Normal tomorrow

since my last post.

While you are doing all of that Bryan & Kate are trying to get their belongings from Chicago to Cleveland.  I thought they would have been moved by now but apparently there were problems, like not finding a mover to do it.  They are using a POD.
