The photo in this story is of the tree in DR Danise's yard.  She is also interviewed in the video.

Went to an early afternoon screening of MAN OF STEEL in 3D. I was the only one there and during the trailers the screen went blank and the house lights came on. A member of staff walked up to me and apologised, saying there was an electical problem and the film would begin for me as soon as possible. I felt as if I was getting a private screening in a preview theatre! There was a ten minute delay and then the film started. Afterwards I was given a free ticket for the inconvenience, to be used any other time.

I really enjoyed the film. Well cast with some amazing fight scenes. On the minus side, I thought the 3D was far too limited and there was too much distracting shaky camera work.

The shakey camera work...now I am remembering why it was so difficult for me to figure out what was happening to whom during WORLD WAR Z. When characters are being killed by zombies, it always helps  (me) to know, so that I am aware of what became of them. Even if they are minor characters. With all of the shaking going on, I couldn't keep track of things very well.

I'm up, I'm up after a typical night - when I have a scratchy throat I don't sleep - I was up and up and then at some point I finally fell asleep - I was up at eight-fifteen and went back to bed and just got up again.  Throat is still scratchy but I will take it easy today and only talk at lunch.

DR ChasSmith - I think you should immediately consume a cup of chicken soup, followed by a prodigious patty melt.    :)

Might be an opportune time to remind people that there is no groaning at HainesHisWay.com.

I think I'll jog in the late afternoon rather than now - that way I can jog, then go have my chicken soup.  I'm also going to try and not use the air conditioning at all today, unless I'm out - that way the house will be cool but I'll shut it off when I get back and won't have the air blowing on me.

Vibes for our DR Danise! I hope the damage can be repaired quickly.

Presumably, the neighbor's insurance will pay for it. Very glad nobody was hurt!

I just don't think I am qualified to attempt the TOD.

Now, if we narrowed it down to greatest performance in a B grade movie...well...

"Adrift" - San Francisco fog, time-lapsed.  Mesmerizing!

I love things like that.  The Astronomy Picture of the Day website (the link is to the daily archive) has videos like that all the time.  Here are a few that I found quickly:

Geostationary Satellites Beyond the Alps

The Light of Stars

Nocturnal: Scenes from the Southern Night

And one a little different:

Flying Over the Earth at Night

Yikes!  And speaking of lightning (as they were in the clip), here's an Astronomy Picture of the Day video of Lightning Captured at 7,207 Images per Second!!  :o
