The server was down but these people unlike our last hosts, respond amazingly fast and get it taken care of and call people - it affected a few sites of which we were one.  They're trying to figure out why it happened and they'll let me know when they do.  All I care about is that things are fixed quickly and that there's communication and in that regard I couldn't be happier.

Right.  Response and attention are what matters.  There's no such thing as NEVER being down, even if only for a minute.

I couldn't get on this here site for, like, ten minutes just now.

Neither could I.  All better now.

My mom's birthday is tomorrow.  I'd sent a card but she hadn;t gotten it yet.  Maybe it will get there tomorrow.

Very loooong day, including a nice dinner tribute to my friend, Dolores, who died earlier this year. Just a group of about eight of us who worked with her to make Braille books. But we went to a burger joint that she really loved and the owner, who knew her, came out and joined in the reminiscences.

Now, it's time to watch Whit Stillman's "Barcelona" and drink a gin lime rickey. Yes.

Nice way to pay tribute to a friend.

I think Bogart's performance in African Queen can't be topped.  The scene where he has to get back in the water with the leaches, perfection. Katharine Hepburn's expression watching him is beautiful.

My throat cannot make a decision - scratchy, not scratchy, yucky, not yucky - I think I won't do a bowl of chicken soup but I do think a cup will do me good, so I'll be on my way to Jerry's to do so in a little while.
