Love the comments about the theater today - you, like me, would be accused of being church ladies by Mr. RyHog, the jerk on All That Chat who comes after me all the time and subverts my words to his own ends so he can pretend I have attitudes I don't have, but on hawking things in the aisles, sorry, if that makes me a church lady to think it turns theater into a circus or baseball game (what's next, "Get your red hots, get your peanuts") so be it. He also tried to twist what I was saying by pointing out that "baseball is an elegant game." I shot back, what does the GAME have to do with anything? Who's talking about the GAME - I'm talking about the spectators. He ignores that and just continues on his dirty path. This guy, as I said, has been doing this for years and I shouldn't even respond to him - others are on to it, fortunately.

Thank you, DR Ryako, for making the effort to learn your lyrics. Sounds like a simple thing to do, yet I've seen a Petra screw up "The Miller's Son" in "A Little Night Music" and an Amy lose her play in a particularly emotional moment of "Most Happy Fella." It's not just women, though those are the two that come to mind first. But it is part of the job.

Actually, I sang in two TV shows in the early 90's, but in both, I was nearly, if not completely, unrecognizable.

One was an episode of "Nurses" (the Golden Girls spinoff), in which I delivered a singing telegram dressed as a gorilla in a tuxedo, carrying a fruit basket. I had to sing the chorus of the Booby Sherman hit, "julie, Julie, Julie, do you love me?" to Julie, the nurse.

The other singing appearance was a very silly and funny episode of Chris Elliot's "Get a Life". It was a send up of Lloyd Weber musicals, in which Chris lands the lead in the "new Andrew Todd Keller masterpiece 'Zoo Animals on Wheels'", at the local community theater.
I was the giraffe, in a gold unitard, on roller skates, with a huge giraffe head. There was a hole in the giraffe neck for my face, and they painted my face to match the giraffe spots.

I don't often give too much thought to how others dress at live theatre. I always try to dress nice. Slacks and a button up shirt and maybe a jacket. I have been known to wear a tie, but not in the last several years.

I have seeen guys in dressy looking shorts and nice sandals, and that seemed fine to me. And guys in jeans with a nice shirt and jacket also look ok, in my opinion. A lot depends on the theatre, I guess. I can't recall seeing anyone ever dress too casual, like in sweat pants or such, even at local theatre.

Food and drink (other than bottled water) seems out of place at live theatre. If you have a medical condition that requires you keep some food stuffs on hand, and you can consume it discreetly, that would be ok.

I can't even watch the damn video or anything on You Tube anymore - Safari has completely screwed itself up. I've tried other browsers and not had much luck. It's better on my iPad, which is weird.

Jenna Lea's rendition of "Where Is Love?" was really lovely. However, even though I tried listening very closely, I'm afraid I couldn't detect the difference in mode or tone in the accompaniment going into the second verse (as per the notes). Still lovely!

Well I will have to agree to disagree with a couple of readers about "dress" jeans. Yes there are NICE jeans, and sometimes to a casual event I wear jeans and a sport jacket.....but I don't consider myself dressed up when I do. And I would never consider wearing jeans to a funeral service or wedding or a graduation for that matter.
